July 26th I am at 230 which is 17 pounds less then last week.
However before I get to ahead of myself the difference (I'm sure) is between my Dr's scale and my home one.
I hope I dropped something but certainly not 17pounds.
My official goal is to be down 25 pounds by the end of August and down to under 200 by the end of the year.
I just dusted off my excercise equipment and will start that today.
    Everyone have a great week.

Hello hello all :) A few weeks back, my great friends Melissa and Kelly and I decided to make up weekly challenges to help push us on days we are slacking or if we just want to up our workouts. We call it the BMK Weekly Challenge, I post them as my status each Monday and often throughout the week as well as a thread I've belong to for quite some time. I thought I'd post them here as well for anyone who needs ideas or is struggling to do something. You all do not have to do them, you can pick and choose, etc, just thought I'd post a little exercise bump :) This week we are choosing a new exercise, something you've never done before or that you haven't done since starting MFP, try doing this exercise for 30min (at least) 3days this week. Can't think of anything? Head to youtube, you can find all kinds of exercises there. For me, I'm doing pilates (on youtube). Also, we like to throw in a food challenge, this week it's to find other foods to get your protein from aside from meat. Try to not eat meat 2 days this week. That one is gonna be hard for me to do, but I'll give it a shot. Hope his sparks some of you. Also, if you ever think of a challenge, please private message me. I picked last weeks challenges, so I won't pick again until August 9th.

Have a great week all!!! Bru

I'm starting out August at 213.8. I lost roughly 9lbs last month!! Woot Woot!! Ok, as I promised, weekly BMK Challenge will start tomorrow, my friend Kelly picked it this week....survey says: Walk for a full hour 4x this week, it can be a hour straight or broken into smaller sections, but get in a full hour each day however you can do it. Also, we work on ourselves all the time, how about 'killing two birds with one stone' and clean for 2hrs this week, a fresh house and burning calories, what a combo!! As for a food challenge, lets try eating at least 3 fruits a day (one at breakfast, lunch, and dinner or snack) for 3 days, if you feel you could also have a fruit at each snack go for it, but the challenge is try and get us to not snack as much and when we do, make it fresh! Good luck all and I'll see ya Friday with my weigh in! Bru

Can this hour include free step on the wii fit?? I tend to have pain if I walk outside for that long.

Ok so I just went swimming for 2 1/2 hours with my son. During that time I did lots of running in one spot, treading water, pulling him around, jumping jacks, etc anything to get my feet and legs and arms moving, of course, swimming as well. I am exhausted.

The estimator says that I Just burned approx 1440 calories. Is that really possible. We were there for a total 4 1/2 hours and maybe a half hour out of the water to eat. So I might have been closer to three hours swimming but to be safe put 2 1/2 hours.

That seems like a LOT of calories - what do you guys think. I did my own private water aerobics the whole time and boy am I tired.

Edited to add: I failed the c hallenge yesterday as I did not walk, even on my wii fit, so hopefully today will make up for that :)

    BMK weekly Challenge starting tomorrow:

So this week we're gonna dance our arses off! Well, try to! Let's dance for at least 1.5hrs this week. It could be zumba, video games, looking up specific dances online, or just turning up the radio and getting down. Also, let's break out the old school gym class moves for 30min a day for 3 days. :glasses: You can choose your own routine for a fun mix and match style, ie sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks, aerobic videos, etc Make it yours! This weeks food challenge, how about trying a new style of food at least once this week. Never tried Thai or Greek before? Search for some recipes and make it yourself for two reasons one you save some money instead of going out to eat, two, you control the ingredients which means less salt, etc. Of course, if you are able to go to a restaurant and try a new food, more power to ya, don't forget to drink your water!! So, I'm in are you?

Have a great week all and let's drop those pesky pounds for the end of this month! :drinker:
    I'm officially at 12lbs to go !!

Official weigh in this morning (after a crappy 2weeks) 2.2 lbs gone! :drinker: I'm at 209.8 and I haven't been this low in at least 5yrs! I feel so much lighter  Not sure if I will make 200 or lower by the end of the month, but I'll get pretty darn close! When I originally posted I was 217 and wanted to lose at least 10lbs, looks like I'll be there soon. Great up the good work all :flowerforyou:

This weeks challenge was dance for 1.5hrs and do some old p.e./gym class exercises for 30min a day, 3x a week. Food wise, try a new style (Greek, Mexican, Thai, etc) . New challenge up Monday. Have a great weekend all! :drinker:

222.2 here, down from 226.6 not quite a month ago. I have my goals set a one pound/week so that is basically within my goals... plus I have been slacking on drinking water and things like that. Trying to remind myself that every pound is progress. I am hoping to be under 220 by the end of August and hopefully under 200 by the end of 2010 as well.

you are doing great girl1 keep it up a total inspiration.
  • can i join in?

I started walking in Dec 09 and weighed 228. Since then, i've done a lot of exercise but not a tremendous amount of 'dieting', though i was eating *somewhat better* ... Hit several plateaus along the way: 217-218 and then again at 210-212. Took up hiking again (in addition to the training i am doing to walk a half-marathon at the end of September) and went thru a week eating everything in sight after doing some high peaks (because eating mega meals hiking & burning 5000+ calories was great LOL). Thank God, i didnt put on any weight but i really reallllllly felt the need to get on track with my eating & training. So here i am :) A MFP newbie :) In the past week i have seen the scale FINALLY inch past my previous low of 208.5 and today it said 204.5 woooot! So getting out of the 200s by the end of the month is a very realistic goal if i stick with it (but have been known to fall of the wagon repeatedly! eeks). I am "in training" for the Adirondack half-marathon (6 weeks away), so i think i can truly pull this off! Would love the help keeping motivated :)

Feel free to 'friend me', btw :) I am new here and dont have many MFP friends yet :P

    BMK Weekly Challenge starting tomorrow:
Work out for a total of 7 hrs in all for the week, NOT including cleaning or shopping! :) Also, we will do a plank 3 days out of this week for at least one minute. (Some my have to be done at 15 sec intervals! These are tricky.) A basic plank can be found here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiA9j-dR0oM&feature=related

And for our food challenge: 1 day needs to be carb free, as in bread, pasta, crackers.. You can still have ur granola bars, and fruit etc.

Have a great week all, and here's to low scale readings and measurements :drinker:

Well I am at 223 this morning. That is a 2 pound loss this week. If I can keep this up I can be out of the 220's by end of month.
Everyone keep up the good work and have a great week.
