Portion sizing?

What do you guys find works best for you? Smaller portions eaten more often or larger portions less regular?

I pretty much do 5 small meals, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner... all pretty close to the same amount of calories. I look forward to my snacks and it seems to gives me a boost in energy.

I eat when I'm hungry, I stop when I'm full. I can't force myself to stick a regimen or a calculated menu plan. Some days I eat three large meals. Some days I eat more small meals or snacks. Whatever works for that day (how much I've worked out, how hungry I am, etc.) The key is figuring out when I'm actually hungry or when I'm just bored.

Yeah i usually prefer the smaller portion more often I reckon! That was my main problem eating when I'm bored so now I'm just tryin to keep myself occupied and gonna try the 30 day shred tomorrow too!
What I did find helps as well, is when I think I'm hungry I have a glass of water and often finds my hunger passes!

I weigh everything that I eat. It was portion sizes that got me overweight in the first place.

Portion sizes and calorie counting is what's worked for me.

    Reading comprehension fail.

OP, I used to eat 3 meals a day with snacks in between. Now I prefer to have some coffee in the morning, a light lunch, and a larger dinner.

It's different for everyone, find what works for you. And you also don't have to stick to one set way, you can eat smaller meals throughout the day one day, and larger less frequent meals the next. Whatever you feel like.

I have to eat regularly or I start to feel weak and sick. Seems my blood sugar takes a nose dive if I don't have a little something every 5-6 hrs. I'm finding that I like a light breakfast, a fairly heavy lunch, a light dinner, and a late night snack. For me, the snack is a necessity. I can't sleep if I'm hungry.

I like small meals better personally, mostly I think because I don't like eating too much of one thing in one go.
