Sometimes I see guys wearing hats in the gym. I don't have anything against it....just wondering why? I understand some ladies do to keep their hair out of the way. Just wondering...

It's the easiest way to cover up that bed head at 5:00 in the morning.0

Because they like wearing hats?
Why wear a hat at night? Or while driving?0 -
 I have never seen anyone wear a hat in the gym0

I actually like wearing a baseball cap to the gym. I feel like If I keep the brim down on my head I can block everyone out and focus on my lifts! Oh yeah!0

You mean like those five finger vibrams??0 -
i'll wear a baseball cap in the gym sometimes.. no reason really, just because i want to?0

I wear a stocking cap because:
I go to the gym at 4:15am and don't comb my hair.
It collects sweat and can be washed daily...keeps the sweat out of my eyes.
It helps hold my earbuds in when I run.0 -
i wear a beanie so i dont get sweat on the benches/equipment0

I do when I'm on the treadmill. It keeps my too-short-for-a-ponytail-but-long-enough-to-get-in-my-face hair from getting stuck to my sweaty face. And it helps keep the sweat from running into my eyes. I'm all about what's practical!0

I wear a hat when I work with weights. I don't like the back of my head resting on that greasy looking sweaty looking spot on all of the benches from people not wiping them off when they are done.0

Hats are necessary to cover up the receeding hairline and bald spot formation from all the testosterone. I keep the bench sweat free by using a towel.0

▲ Pretty much this ▲
I have curly hair that gets crushed while I sleep, and my workouts are early in the morning. Simplest thing to do is to put a hat on and head to the gym. I'll worry about fixing my hair after I shower.0 -

I wear a hat once in awhile. Usually when i'm having an absolute horrible hair day and plan on hitting up the treadmill.0

I don't wear a hat when I'm not working out because my head gets so hot. If I wore one when I exercised, my head would probably explode! I've always wondered when I see people working out with hats if they are just miserably hot! I must be a freak of nature - the only time I wear a hat is the dead of winter!0

I wear one once and a while to keep my hair under control. Sometimes just hair bands work too.0
-
I wear one of these, because a jaunty chapeau is always a good idea.

I sometimes wear a hat to the gym but it stays on the coat hook. Just not comfortable when I'm doing cardio and gets in the way when I am doing weights.0

Me too. It's a combination of bed head alleviation and sweat containment. (I'm a girl but I assume the issues are similar for anyone who has hair or sweat glands)0 -
only when I drink

I really don't understand why anyone would wear a hat in the gym, wouldn't it just get annoying? Not to mention sweaty?
I like to keep my hair out my face, but I have something called a hairband.0
