I'm running a little bit late this week, but I made it here finally. I'm showing a loss so I'm happy with that, but I'm injured this week. I'm a little worried about taking it easy and trying to still continue to lose.

Well - this week fell apart. A lot of emotional eating happened, and not enough exercise. But the other day I pulled out my summer clothes now that it is finally starting to warm up, and I am a size smaller than last summer - everything was too big! That has remotivated me to get back on track. Let's get this thing going the right way!0 -

Just for fun: No events right now really. But I am going to try to walk 5 days a week for the first two weeks and then progress onto jogging for part of my daily walks for the last two weeks of May! Right now I hardly have any stamina and become winded easily. It will be challenging to do it but I'm going to try!
Yippee! I've been doing 2-3 miles a day and doing Tae Bo for the past few days as well. Started the 100 squats a day challenge today and want to see awesome changes in my body. I already feel it in my energy levels and mindset!0 -

I need some tips to lose over 3 pounds in a week!!! What is your trick?
I lost 10 pounds in less than 2 weeks. I seriously have just been pumping up my cardio activity. Tae Bo can burn 400-500 calories in as little as half an hour. It's crazy! And I have been sticking as close as I can to 1200 calories but go over a little on days when I worked really hard and have the extra calorie allowance and only if I feel hungry. I have been eating carrots and edamame as my snacks and have only had fake ice cream as my occasional sweet treat (frozen bananas blended until smooth and creamy with a couple tablespoons of milk and a small piece of chocolate thrown in if I want 'chocolate chip ice cream'). I try not to eat my workout calories back if I can avoid it but I don't try to starve myself either. I didn't expect the weight to start coming off this fast but man am I happy about it. And it tends to slow down the less weight you have to lose, so just plan on that since you weigh less than I do.0 -
I'll join late, but I do have my weight as of the beginning of the month. I am desperately trying to kick the Dr Pepper habit. Some days are better than others. If I start the day off with Schweppe's Black Cherry seltzer, I can usually only have one can of Dr P for the day without freaking out too much.

I had a huge addiction to Dr. Pepper up until a couple months ago. I decided to quit cold turkey for 21 days and document how I felt each week for my own personal viewing. By the last week, I had so much more energy and felt so incredibly good, I decided I was done with soda for good! While on the soda, I was sleeping in until the very last minute of the day, every day. I felt groggy and lethargic all the time. It was exhausting to just do normal housework. And I always felt like I needed a nap halfway through the day. By day 21 of my soda free plan I was getting up 2 hours earlier than I used to (without my alarm clock ever going off) and feeling so much more energy every day. I highly suggest trying to go without for a while. The first week is hard. Cravings, headaches, mood swings, headaches, headaches, headaches! But that was part of the revelation for me- knowing that drug addicts have similar symptoms when coming clean and getting off of a high. If something causes those sort of withdrawal reactions, I don't think that is a good sign at all. Just a theory of my own but you might consider it.0 -
Sorry I missed posting my last weigh in. Lost 1 lb so far.
I expect it will be much higher this week.
I had jaw surgery yesterday (bone graft in my jaw) and I can't eat much. It hurts to eat. So I'm sticking with veggie and fruit juices (made in my juicer), and my hubby is making me some mashed potatoes tonight. I ate a greek yogurt, it hurt, but I went slow and managed to eat it. It's really really hard to hit 1200 calories when you can't move your jaw much. I am concerned about "starvation mode".
I have heard conflicting info on "starvation mode", some say if you regularly go below 1200 calories, your metabolism will slow down. Others say that its not true, it's just a factor of calories in and there is no such thing as real starvation mode, or people would not have anorexia. I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on this?0
