Anything with a killer beat honestly. Matt and Kim, oddly dubstep gets me pumped and when i get down and out it seems to push me literally the extra mile.... or early 90's rap music.

  • Go for pop punk :) They have pretty solid beats and the drums are a large part of most of the songs so it makes it easier to keep a rhythm.

Pop punk is stuff like All Time Low, Marianas Trench, Fall Out Boy, SOME My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco etc.

My playlist is mostly upbeat Panic! At The Disco, Sleeping With Sirens, Marianas Trench, Motionless In White (<-- very heavy metal music avoid that if you're not into it, but it's super angry and gets me pumped!!), Some upbeat Regina Spektor, All Time Low, You Me At Six and Fall Out Boy.

    Stutter - Marianas Trench
This Aint A Scene It's An Arms Race - Fall Out Boy
Let's Kill Tonight - Panic! At The Disco
Not The American Average - Asking Alexandria
Loverboy - You Me At Six
Devil's Night - Motionless In White

Some of my favourite running songs right there :)

I usually like HIIT running so my list looks something like this:

    Slayer - Raining Blood
Juno Reactor - Pistolero (Bombay Dub Orchestra remix)
    Rob Dougan - Chateau
Paul Van Dyk - Nothing but you

I don't run but when I'm exercising I like anything upbeat. I reckon Icona Pop - I love it would be great for running.

My husband does a lot of running and I usually do his running iPod every couple of months to mix it up a bit and so he has a bit of a surprise when he's out running.

The stuff i put on is not necessarily my favourite music but I've put everything from The Ace Of Spades by Motorhead to Apply some Pressure by Maximo Park to Basement Jaxx, Chase & Staus, Example and even Lady Gaga.

I listen to electronic stuff like futurepop and EBM, check out bands like VNV Nation and Covenant, bouncy electronic music with a beat and uplifting lyrics. Perfect to run to!

Most of the upbeat songs by Flogging Molly are perfect for my stride but I vary it up with top 40 electro-pop and artists like Bob Dylan and Bob Marley. I like my music to surprise me. Going from Gaga singing Bad Romance to Bob Dylan serenading me with A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall definitely keeps me from getting bored with my tunes.

I download podcasts on Itunes. My fav is Motiontraxx and then podrunner. I can't keep my pace listening to real music.
  • I listen to a little of everything when I run. I try to the music at 180 beats per minute so that I can run a good pace. There are websites out there that will allow you to find music based on the pace you desire to run.
