Tattoos Not of Your Cultural Background

it'sjust my opinion, but people shouldn't have opinions about other people's opinions.0

Unless you have a connection to that culture, don't do it.0
-
At least research it properly to avoid winding up with something that isn't ridiculous. Otherwise, I don't care.0
-
I judge them.0

Also Most likely hysterical.

It's the same as eating food not of your culture. Don't do it. I fear other cultures.0

I think it's the best thing when someone wants to embrace another culture. Just because a person isn't born into a particular culture doesn't mean they can't enjoy, celebrate and embrace it. One world, people!0

Appropriation is a fine and hazy line.0

I had a kilt once - wore it all over Scotland - and my heritage has no Scottish blood at all. No one cared. It was fun.
I could also take it off at the end of the day, and no one was the wiser. Can't do that with a tattoo.0 -
Must hang them. Tattoos are wrong.0

I am Italian, and am dripping with tattoos in Japanese and Italian. If you have an issue, it's YOUR issue. I'm good with me, homey.0

To each their own! My only fear would be getting a foreign language wrong0

If it's not on your body then why does it matter?0

I judge them.

I mostly have tattoos that are for ME. I know what they say, and why, and everyone else wonders what and why. I haven't had a new one in a few years and it's gonna be time for new this summer0

If it is a culture you admire or appreciate for a deep emotional reason, then go for it. If you're getting a French or Kanji tattoo because it's the cool thing to do and everyone is doing it, then it's kind of stupid. If you can't read what is put on your body, how do you know the artist didn't actually write "I can't read this" in sanskrit?
Do what you want, but if someone who can read sanskrit starts laughing his butt off at you because you've had "I can't read this" tatted across your lower back, well, then you kinda deserve it.0 -
I'm all for it.

I'm fine with whatever people get. But am sometimes baffled when folks get a tattoo in a foreign language and it's wrong. Spanish, Chinese, whatever. Get it right.
We asked a girl once why she changed the structure of the Chinese character in her tattoo and she said it just looked better. Riiiight, but it doesn't mean what you want.0 -
I think there's a line between appreciating another culture, and appropriating it. Don't cross that line.0

I think we should love our bodies however we decide to decorate them. No tattoo shaming here, so let's call it "Cultural Tattoo Acceptance."0 -

I side eye them, but whatever...it's their body and their mistake.0
