At times, I wonder if you are a real person, or just a very large group of monkeys randomly smacking a keyboard.

I am sure there are variations, but I know someone with this last name and that is how he says it is pronounced, too.

Didn't you hear? A long time ago, there was a mass exodus of R's from the New England states down to Texas!

On a completely unrelated note, don't forgot to drink at least eight glasses of WAH-TAH, I mean, WAR-TUR, I mean WATER daily!

The actual worst I've come across is Cheniere, and in that community it was always pronounced Shinny...I lived there for years before figuring out what radio adds and people where talking about.

Also Lake Amistad is pronounced Amstead by most locals. I just can't bring myself to say it that way...

I live near a town called Aubrey, but all the locals pronounce it Ar-brey. There is no R in the name, nor is it to be pronounced with an R. But after 13 yrs here, I just go with it.

When I lived in Virginia, the pronunciation of the cities Norfolk and Suffolk by the locals drove me up a wall. It will not post the pronunciation because it censors it out.
