Vegetarian Entree with Brussels Sprouts?

I've only ever had brussels sprouts back in the day when I wasn't a vegetarian. So that was with steak.

Any idea for what to serve with them now? I have a craving for them!

Also, is it brussel or brussels?

Brussels is technically correct, but everyone I know pronounces it "Brussel sprouts", so I am guilty of spelling it that way.

I still haven't been able to convince my other half that they are edible, so I usually have them by themselves, as a snack.

Just have them as a vegetable side with whatever you usually have for dinner.

One way to have them which is delicious, is shred them, chop some leeks and garlic and fry them lightly in a pan.

For non veggie, shred as above but add bacon, super yummy!

They are also good to mix with cabbage, if you make any cabbage/potato mash, throw in some sprouts too :)

this is the best way i think:

    http://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/02/21/recipe-of-the-day-roasted-brussels-sprouts-with-garlic/

sometimes i finish them in the oven on high heat (in the 400s) drizzled with some balsamic vinegar

i never thought id crave brussel(s) sprouts but these are amazing

I sometimes make them with au gratin style with onions and a cream sauce. My favorite is with a horseradish cream sauce.
