Runners - What Kind of Earbuds do you use?

This is REALLY driving me nuts. I like my Apple earbuds the best... they fit in my ears the best. Any others I buy from the store with the longer plastic bit that goes in your ear just fall right out.... the only problem is the apple ones aren't snug enough and while I run they fall out. I recently purchased a pair that had the loop that goes over your ear... but the loop thing is rubber and now that I'm "breaking them in" they fall off too... and its REALLY distracting when I'm trying to run to have to put my ear buds back in 100 times... any suggestions? What do you use that fits in your ear well and stays while you run?

Most people don't like using neckband headphones, but I use this "Sennheiser PMX 685i In-Ear Neckband Sports Headphones" and regardless if I am running in the rain or doing some crazy workout, they don't move and never short out. I would prefer to have ones that just wrap around my ears, but I have yet to find any that are as good as this set AND fit comfortably without falling out or pinch my ear.0

Yurbuds. Best headphones ever. They're basically made for working out.0

I use the Jaybird Bluebuds X. Those are awesome. They are cordless, you can take calls if you need too as well. And I can run, jump, do all kinds of things and they fit snug. And the sound quality is just as good as wired.
check them out.0 -

I just got these for Mother's Day and they are by far the best I have tried.0 -
I REALLY want jaybird blubuds but can't justify the $160 price tag so I decided to go with Yurbuds and they do NOT fall out, no way no how. Amazing. I got the ones w/ the volume and track buttons on the cord as well as a microphone for taking calls. They've been on three half marathons so far this year and I have NO complaints.0

Yeah the jaybirds are a little more expensive. But they are worth it if you can afford them.
The freedom that I get from using cordless justified the price tag for me. I can never go wired again.0 -
Thanks... I think I'll check out the Yurbuds... looks like they might work0

I use Yurbuds as well. I don't run, but they stay in during intense jump rope sessions, so I'm pretty sure they'll last in running0

I swear by the JVC Marshmallow earbuds. They're $10 at Walmart. You squish the earbud, stick it in your ear, and it expands to fit your ear. They have never fallen out, even in the hottest summer days and I'm covered in sweat.0

I use Skullcandy earbuds. They were cheap, the sound is good, and I don't have issues with them falling out.0

I have the Beats by Dr. Dre Powerbeats. They are pricey so other cheaper versions with the similar design is great. They stay on when I run and they mold into your ears so they hold in place. They are also water resistant so it's good when you're sweating heavily!0

$149 BOSE SIE2i Sports Headphones - Orange - w/Reebok fitness armband holds your audio device during exercise.
The armband took a little time to get use to but I like it now.and the earbuds have never fallen out.0 -
Bose IE2 - worth the price ..but better if they are a gift Never had any issue with them falling out and the sound is great. Sometimes you get what you pay for in life - I was replacing headphones every few months with cheap models then for the past year and a half I have had these with no issue and if you add up what I was spending on the cheapies these have been worth it.0

Beats by dre.0

best ones I have found are actually running haed phones by addidas.. They have two styles one with a volume remote on the cord and another for an iphone that lets you control everything via the remote on the cord.0

I like my: iFrogz Ear Pollution Plugz Earbuds0

 To give you an idea how much they mark them up, I got mine for $10 in China.0 -

Jaybird has one that's around $80, though I don't really know much about the differences between them. I'm pretty happy with it and it's definitely worth it since it's sweatproof and I don't have to worry about cords getting in my way.
Though I'm finding now that with warmer weather I'm sweating more and it sometimes causes the buds to slip out of my ears. It comes with optional hooks to place over your ears, so I'm going to try those on my next run.0 -
I love my Skullcandy ones with the phone mic attached to it. I can control my music, and my phone if it happens to ring. Best bang for the buck, I think.0

I just got these for Mother's Day and they are by far the best I have tried.
I have tried them and after about a month of use, they wouldn't stay in all of the time anymore...to note; I work out about 2x's per day, 6 days a week, mix of strength, P90X routines, and long distance running and spinning (no music on outdoor cycling...need to hear the cars coming).0 -
Yurbuds. You can even take the silicone ear pieces off and put them on your apple earphones. That is what I did. They do NOT fall out period. Make sure you get fitted!0

YURBUDS. first pair I've tried that DON'T fall out. (I've been on a quest to find some for years and have tried every brand I could think of until I stumbled upon these in Best Buy).0

Bought a pair of Yurbuds at Target this weekend - only used them once so far but it's the first time I could get through my entire run without putting them back in - awesome! Thanks all0

I like the bose IE2 I looked at them for quite some time cost was a factor. FInially decided to purchase and told myself if there is anything about them I dislike I will return them. Im on my 3rd par in about 3 years only type ill ever use now. No sweat build up like you get with ear buds they do not work themselves out like ear buds and very comfortable. Also when Im running outside I can still hear noise around me AKA (cars and bicycles).0

I have a pair of these. They tend to fall off when I run but are good for everything else. I got the Ironman ones, cost about $30. Which is about all I'm willing to spend on headphones.
I generally go with the cheapest pair I can find that have the ear wrap-around thing. Those tend to work best for me.
Tangent: I think people who are wearing Bose or Beats noise reducing earmuffs at the gyms are tools. I mean the big *kitten* ones that cover your whole head. It's like "thanks buddy, now I know you spend $400 on headphones but still don't know how to work out."0 -
I haven't run with earbuds since I stopped treadmilling it years ago. However, the absolute best never fall out stay put earbuds I found were skullcandy. Several companies make buds that look similar now, but I'd go with skullcandy because I know those are legit without being over-designed and over-priced.0

I had Yurbuds and they stayed in pretty good. I didn't like the extra long cord and having to stuff it down my shirt. The cord would then pull on me a bit and I couldn't easily turn my head and I noticed that I would look down all the time causing poor running form. I lost one of the silicone pieces after a race and had to get a new set. I bought the Sennheiser PMX680 and I love them. There is only a cord going down on one side (it goes behind your head) and it is a super short one that reaches my armband without a problem. I keep my head up now and can look around more easily. Basically, I think everybody is different and has to find what works best for them. Oh and one more comment, I borrowed my husband's Bose IE2 earbuds when I couldn't use the Yurbuds and they were also fantastic, but much more expensive for something I'm going to sweat on all the time.0

I've used Yurbuds and love the way they twist and lock in place. They also come at a couple of price points so you can decide whether you like them without shelling out too much. The only drawback I have is that the silicone covers become loose after awhile and come off the earbuds more easily. I keep thinking about trying a dab of superglue to lock em down but haven't gotten around to that0
