Anyone on meds trying to lose weight?

I am in real need of support right now. I feel like I was better at maintaining my weight than I am losing it. I've been trying really hard, tracking my calories, being way more actie than I usually am and then I deviate slightly and gain 4 lbs! This didn't happen to me before. I know I need to just keep going but it really demoralized me. I'm taking medications that I know make it hard to lose weight. Looking for some guidance. Thanks.

I'm on two such meds and have been for 11 years.

For me though honestly it's an age thing. It's harder in your 30s to maintain or to lose (it's a hormone thing).

I also travel a lot for work (eating out 3x/day). I think all of those factors play a lot more into my plan. In 2011 I lost 20 lbs and did not keep it off.

So a few things: How old are you? How often do you workout? Do you cook your meals at home? Do you eat local food, organic food, or do you eat factory farmed meat? Do you bring your lunch to work or eat out? Do you lift weights?

There's a lot more in play than blaming medication.

Ok. I clicked on your profile.

Weight loss gets harder in 30s-40s so you're in that category.

Second you have AMAZING FARMER'S MARKETS and local food in Seattle (I envy you).

Lastly, check out the recipes on www.dailygarnish.com (she's from Seattle). She also takes barre method classes which I highly suggest. Spice up that exercise routine.

Also, make sure you are logging every bite and every workout. You might be sabotaging yourself.

I know it can be harder to lose or maintain when you have medical issues at paly that require medication. But keep at it. I myself struggle at times to keep my AI thyroid condition steady. It is do-able...frustrating as all I dunno what I'm sure for you...but you can do this. Sometimes you just have to step back, re-evaluate, and get back to it.

Maybe analyze what it is you are eating, even mis-tracking the slightest things can throw you off whenc alories add up, or sodium from packaged foods. Maybe not drinking enough water or over-estimating calories burned through exercise? There's no way you can legitimately gain 4 lbs in a matter of days, not of fat anyway. That's a water weight gain.

Actually, I was taking medication for Blood Pressure BUT since the end of March, I've been BP medication free!
Exercising and trying to eat right (which I haven't been that successful with the food--its an entertainment issue)!
The BP issue is rocking in the positive although around the time of the month it seemed to be kind of high.

Check out some of Dr. Mark Hyman's books and reviews; he seemingly pushes eating right and is anti drug.:flowerforyou:

I have the same issue. I do not loose weight quickly because of the meds and medical conditions. I have to watch my portions and keep moving among other things.
