New Mum and wanting to loose the weight!

Hey everyone,

I joined MFP ages ago on my phone but never really stuck with it. I was 85kg, 165cm tall and hating how much I had gained over 2 years. 9 weeks ago I gave birth to my second child and thanks to all the morning sickness, managed to drop to 77kg! Now I see the kgs slowly creeping back on, and my best friend is getting married in 8 1/2 months and Im her bridesmaid. I'd love to shed the kgs and be somewhat close to my weight before baby #1 and look really good in my dress but I struggle with motivation and food. Sugary energy drinks are my kryptonite! Also money....trying to feed everyone a healthy balanced meal on a very limited budget isn't easy. I'm looking for friends who can keep me motivated, encourage me to get out of the house and excersice! And also any budget recipe ideas :) Also any people out there from NZ?

I get bored with things very easily so always have to change it up...I have HEAPS of dvds so usually change it up with them daily, or going for a walk when its fine.
I struggle with food most of all...i dont really eat junk foods or anything, just not healthy veggies, fruits ect...so need to work on that alot more!

Men..... this weight loss is harder than I thought. I was on a roll initially lost a good 29 lbs. But then I gained
19 lbs. Wow. Guess its time to get back on track... which turns out to be the easy part....staying on track has been more challenging than ever especially when I get real close to me overall goal. Hmm... maybe this group will be some sort of added insentive.

Hi, I'm another Kiwi mum (my daughter's one) and a similar height to you - I'm 173cm. I started MFP two and a half months ago at 72.5kg and am now 67kg without feeling at all deprived. Breaking the sugary drinks habit is going to be essential I think - my solution for shaking my daily coca-cola habit was more sleep (hard I know with a new baby) but I believe there's a strong correlation between feeling tired and craving sugar. And also when you're tired your will power to say no to sugary food disappears. Happy to provide support and motivation - I'll send you a friend request.

Wow good to know about sugar cravings relating to tiredness!

Out of curiosity....has anyone tried shakes made with protein powder as quick breakfast idea?

I find i skip breakfast most days due to lack of time and i know that's not a good start to any weight loss :-/ interested in trying the shakes as something quick and easy
