Keto Diet - Snack Ideas?

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome a few days ago. One of the side effects of this syndrome is obesity as it turns out. After researching, I managed to find anything low carb would do wonders for my diet, so I've decided to try out keto. I have no issues for meal plans such as dinner, lunch or breakfast really. Eggs for breakfast, lunch is typically a chicken caesar salad, and dinner can be chicken, bacon wrapped chicken, steak, beef, whatever. I'm mostly having issues figuring out what to have for a snack. Last night I had pepperoni and cheese, which is ok. I just want some variation though. Some people eat a tablespoon of peanut butter to hit calorie goals on some days as well, but that isn't really a snack in my opinion.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

    Hi :)

Have you tried chic nuts (roasted chickpeas) I also snack on ham, turkey and chicken breast, boiled egg white, I haven't tried making them but home made protein balls and bars are pretty good! I'm sure if you google them you'll find recopes

    Good luck

I'm not keto but I do keep my carbs under 100 for 1400 calories a day. My go to snacks right now are:

    Nuts
    Cheese
    Cottage Cheese
    Greek Yogurt
    Avocados
    Celery with natural peanut butter
    Apple with natural peanut butter
Dried seaweed snacks (Annie Chun's is my favorite brand but there are a few)
    Quest Bars
    Strawberries
    Blueberries
    Raspberries
Raw Turnips, radishes, sugar snap peas, etc. with hummus
    Dried edamame
    Cucumbers with salt and dill

There have been some great suggestions already so I won't rehash those but to add

    -Pork Rinds/Crackle
-Jerky (just watch that you aren't getting too much protein as Jerky doesn't have much fat)
-Cheese Crisps (melt cheese in pan until it goes crispy, let it cool down and eat it later; just gives cheese a bit more variety!)
    -Salami (great protein:fat ratio)

If I get desperate I will usually go for the low carb high protein snacks (which doesn't meet the fat ratio but I will even it out throughout my day- I try and stay away from atkins products because the malitol will usually kill my stomach! but they are pretty yum).

Im following a vegetarian keto diet, so my options are a little bit different than everyone elses.

    Quest bars are amazing.
Celery and cream cheese (or peanut butter, but since you cant do that, maybe any other nut butters?)
    Almonds
String cheese, or just any kind of cheese
Kale chips (kale tossed in olive oil baked for 10 minutes)
    Egg salad
If youre low on your fat macros, you can always make fat bombs. There are tons of recipes out there
