Detox Bath for Weight Loss

You can't lose weight soaking in a tub. You don't lose weight by sprinkling flavor enhancer on your food. You don't lose weight with shakes and supplements. There is no magic pill.
You lose weight by consuming less calories than you use.0 -
Sorry, but that's pseudoscience. Decreasing your energy intake is what results in an actual loss of fat.0

I take a bath in epsome salt and baking soda at least 1 time per week and more if I can find time. However, I don't do To lose weight but if you are feeling bloated it Can definitely help you eliminate some excess water you might be carrying. The baking soda just makes my skin soft. All in all it just helps to ease my sore muscles.0

No joke, you can lose weight by saying Ralph 3 times a day. All you have to do is after each meal shove a spoon down your throat until you say RAAAALLLPPPHH!0
-
LMAOOOO  sorry but it was really funny..... I dont think it would work though0
-
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Just step back for a minute and think how the devil this would work? What possible biochemical processes in your body is this type of bath going to stimulate that fat just melts away? What toxins (and be specific now) are you going to purge from your body? How?
Apply a touch of skepticism, please.0 -
Caution: Do not take detox baths with epsom salt if you have heart trouble, high blood pressure, or are diabetic.0

If this is a serious question then the answer is NO, it will not aid in weight loss. Not generally anyway. IF a person is inclined to take a bunch of high cal food into the bath with them and munch for the whole hour they soak, and then they stop that practice and "fast" while they soak, it might lead to cal deficit...or it might not.
I have used a salt bath in the past for relaxation. Equal amounts of epsom salts, sea salt, and baking soda. I mix up a big batch and divide into one cup portions. It actually is more relaxing than soaking in plain warm water. And it leaves my skin feeling very smooth.
Maybe the person who claimed they lost weight, soaked long enough that they had to pee and when they got on the scale they were down a pound....water weight only.

Well you have all made me laugh ..thanks its been a long day at work .. especially the photo in the bath full of wotsits...
I think we can all be taken in by these "diet & weightloss" plans... years ago I went to a beauty salon & was wrapped in somekind of clay bandages then wrapped in clingfilm & zipped into a big bag to sweat it all out...
YES really I did this & lost a few inches but unfortunatly 20 yrs later I'm still here trying to lose those pounds...
but yes my skin did feel great after ... as a previous member & my partner keep reminding me the only way to lose weight is to eat less & do more I'm afraid.....:-)0 -
I am going back on what I called my "Honduras and Nicaragua Mission Trip Diet"...
My parents go on medical missions trips and lose SO much weight on them.0 -
can you have a detox bath even though you're breastfeeding?...not at the same time of course...lol0
-
Epsom salt dehydrates, so it's probably just water weight that's lost and will come back next time you have a glass of water. :P
Oh, and be careful for UTIs/yeast infections if you're a lady-type soaking in anything that can upset your pH.0 -

Please don't confuse me with the facts:huh:0 -
Haha, you really do lose weight! You aren't eating junk food, you walk a lot, and drink lots of water! I lost 10-12 pounds on each mission trip I have been on!0
-
your kidneys remove toxins from your body already.
Your kidneys do, but if you are full of toxins your kidneys need help because the kidneys and liver become sluggish and you gain weight as a result.. Detox gets rid of toxins thus can aid in weightloss.0 -
Lol, this is such BS.
In the words of Ricky Ricardo: "Lucy, you got some splaining to do!"

Technically you could lose weight by soaking in the tub all day and never eating but I would not suggest it.....
If your liver and kidneys are "sluggish" then you are ill. Drink water and eat real food in slightly less amounts then you burn and you will lose weight.
This was very entertaining!0 -

Depending on where the mission trip takes place, you might catch a bug that causes gastrointestinal distress which will result in weight loss.

Sounds like a wonderful spa treatment! Wish I had a tub worthy of that. What I do know is I tried epsom salts soak for my feet after a really bad high heels night and my feet felt brand new in 30 minutes! That alone is worth the price of admission. As far as detoxing, I prefer to do mine on a daily basis from the inside out with lots of fresh whole fruits and veggies! THAT WORKS and is quite delicious, too! Good luck to you!0
-
I'm gonna do this, but only 'cause it sounds lovely! And it'll be a really easy way to clean the bath too, ha! Ding!
Edited to say nice dog Susan, rruuuuff!0 -
I tried, but I was unable to drink the entire tubful.
ROFL!!!0 -
Ok, this would obviously not be my main source of weight loss.I would eat healthy and exercise..I am going back on what I called my "Honduras and Nicaragua Mission Trip Diet"...........for those who tried the detox bath did you lose any weight?
Honduras and Nicaragua Mission Trip Diet? Are you planning to starve yourself? Then, yes, you might lose weight.
*facepalm*0 -

That's nothing compared to the face they'll be pulling when some ginger gets into those *special* places...0 -
Okay, you had me crying!! Too funnyUh-oh :indifferent:0

That was just one recipe for the detox bath....I have heard of being losing a pound or 2 everytime they have done so.
More than likely, it is a temporary water loss. Definitely not fat. It is no better than the wraps.0 -

Hi y'all! How are you doing on your weight loss? I am down 25 pounds...not really sure how I lost it because I haven't been "faithful" on my eating plan and exercise. lol. Any way, I have 100 pounds more to lose.
Have any of you tried the detox bath for weight loss? If so did you lose weight?
Did you know you can lose weight and detox by taking a big ole deuce? (Uh, not in the tub Einstein)0 -
