I have been eating peanut butter every now in then to boost my protein, but the fat content is really high. We buy Snippy All Natural peanut butter. I just was wondering if it was good for weight loss or not. Thanks do much.

That's entirely up to you and you alone, you like peanut butter ...eat it. Just stay in your calories and fats for the day is all, overdo it and you'll stop losing... Peanut butter is good for you and is a healthy fat if that helps you at all.

We all do need healthy fats in our diets.
Among other things, fat provides energy, helps in forming structural material of cells & tissues, carries the fat soluable vitamins A, D, E & K, and supplies essential fatty acids.
Our bodies cannot function without some fat

As long as it fits into your calories for the day, it should be fine - it does have fat but it's a good fat and it also has protein. I'll usually have whole wheat toast with peanut butter for breakfast at least 1 day a week.

I practice self control, but I eat 1.5 tbs in my oatmeal.

I also use the powdered PB2 in my protein shakes... I love the flavor. mmm

I found that even if I measure and track peanut butter it seems to stall my weight loss if I have it regularly throughout a week. If I have it just a couple times a week it is fine.

I love peanut butter. I have been known to eat a whole jar of natural peanut butter in a sitting even in my younger days. I don't really have it around much as a result, though last time I had peanut butter I was fine.

i dont think that peanut butter make you fat or gain weight. if your are within the calorie intake boundary then its ok if you consume it ....but make sure you take it in moderation.

    Peanut butter. Almond butter.

    LOVE IT!

healthy fat, some nice protein, it's DELISH and satisfying. I have some everyday.

the key word: SOME. Not a jar. It's part of my food, my life.

    My faves? crunchy

    Maranatha no-stir almond butter
Smuckers Natural or Laura Scudder's natural peanut butter

I always have a jar of each in my pantry at all times. YUMMMM

Generally speaking, a tablespoon of peanut butter per day is good for fat loss. On the other hand, a jar per day is probably not good for fat loss.

To avoid the fat factor you can get the powdered stuff to mix into things like shakes and oatmeal. PB2, there's also a chocolate variety, it's really good on chocolate ice cream too!

Peanutbutter may be high in fat, BUT it's healthy fats! No need at all to avoid it. You're body NEEDS fats for your nerves, brain function, and it also fights depression.

Peanutbutter is not only nutrient dense, but it takes a smaller amount to feel satisfied.
Choice a peanutbutter that has only 2 ingredients: PEANUTS and SALT.

Learn the difference between Saturated Fats, which affect your cholesteral.

and MonoUnSaturated, PolyUnSaturated and Omega 3s, are good for you.

A good guideline is that if the fat is liquid at room temperature then won't clog your arteries, if it's solid it will.

It's high in monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated fatswhich are the good kinds, and the suturated fats aren't high enough that I worry about them. It's high in protein, gives a bit of potassium, and most types are 0 cholesterol. So I'm pretty firmly in the "Good in Moderation" camp.

Plus it ranks with bacon in terms of sheer culinary awesomeness. So there's that.
