Starting Again and Looking for Motivating Friend

Hey Pals,

I joined this site about two years ago. I lost about 20 pounds back then. Turns out a lot of that weight loss was actually due to undiagnosed thyrioditis in its hyperactive swing. In any case, I've been a lot healthier since then, but I've managed to gain the weight back. Part of the weight gain might be the since-diagnosed thyroiditis, but a lot of it is my laziness.

Anyways, I'M BACK. I want to be healthy and I want to look healthier. I need motivating and encouraging friends to remind me of my goals and to make sure I get up off my BUTT.

I will add that a lot of my lack of motivation is because of my asthma, heart condition, and bum ankle. I really am not trying to make excuses. These are limitations, but I'm hoping to discover that they aren't as limiting as I think they are. I just got a copy of the new Rockin Body workout. For anyone that is familiar, I could get through the first basic workout. I can do the Party Express and Dance Party, but not at full-effort because my heart races WAY too fast and can't keep up. I couldn't get through the Abs or Booty workouts either. My goal is to be able to do it all!

So, feel free to add me!

    hello!

I have asthma too, and attacks are induced by exercise. it sucks but I work through it. I'd be happy to help motivate you!

Hey! I have hypothyroid, and I kinda know what you're going through. I started this last year and lost nearly 20 pounds and got depressed and gained nearly all of it back. I am needing friends for motivation as well. I would love to be friends with you and then we could motivate each other.
  • I deleted my old MFP too and now I am back to get healthy and happy. :) Feel free to add me if you like

    Thanks, everyone!

I largely gave up going to my endocrinologist for the thyroiditis because he can't do anything for my anyways.

My asthma isn't so much a hindrance as my heart is... while trying to figure out that I had thyroiditis, I went to a cardiologist. He discovered that I have a "mild mitral regurgitation". Basically, my heart doesn't pump blood as efficiently as it should. All they can do is "keep an eye on it". It's really an issue with exercising, though. The faster my heart rate is, the less efficiently it's working. When it's really pumping, it's kind of like I can't breathe mixed with the feeling like it might explode. It totally sucks! I'm hoping as I get more fit... I can build up my heart strength and it doesn't remain such a problem.

Hi! I'm also re-starting this after several months' break. Traveling and the holidays kinda killed my accountability. :/ Anyway, glad to be an accountability partner for someone if they will do the same for me!
