I started on here at 50 too, though I was almost to goal when I started. For me, exercise has been the key at this age. Much more so than when I was younger and much more so because of my sedentary desk job. Plus, it brings so many more health benefits than just calorie restriction alone.

The only advice I can offer is what worked for me.

Long version: Eat healthy most of the time. Exercise regularly. Prepare most of your own meals from scratch. Exercise regularly. Don't eat food you don't like, and don't say you don't like healthy food. Exercise regularly. Don't make yourself miserable thinking you have to do any certain exercise (all exercise is good) or that you have eat any certain food (there is no single food that is key for weight loss or health) or that you have eat or not eat at any certain time of the day (unless directed to do so by a Dr. for medical reasons). Do what needs to be done, but don't stress or obsess over it. You can have fun and have treats while losing weight or maintaining the loss.

Short version: Eat right and exercise. Good Luck. :flowerforyou:

    This is me too!
My name is Alison and I'm turning 50 this year. I have decided it is time (well actually way past time) to get on track.

    Love, support and encouragement welcome.
