Fit is Fun: Open Group!

HI MFP'ers!
I wanted to start a new group... something fun to keep us motivated to work out and to hopefully drop some weight in the process.
I am open to any ideas... so sign on and chime in!

I was thinking we could weigh-in on Fridays and have a weekly exercise challenge!

In looking at other groups this seems to be the standard format for weigh-ins... so copy the most recent version and add yourself... we will update it on FRIDAY!

The challenge for this week is to log ALL your exercise and get a baseline (ie. what does a typical week look like) from that we can all try and spice up our weekly routines!

    Had to update myself... weighed-in on a different scale... and now sadly I am back to my own... I liked the other scale better... haha

    alright ladies... it is only the 3 of us for now, but that is okay with me. lets get moving!

    So to give you a bit of info about me... I just turned 24, I am working on my PhD., and the BF and I bought a house about 3 months ago... (it is a real fixer... so a lot of the "workouts" I get during the week are house-work related... paiting, demo, yard work... etc.) I have two big goofy puppies that also need a TON of exercise... I have a pitbull/boxer/mastiff mix and an american bulldog... they are the sweetest animals ever :) Anyways I am trying to drop about 30 lbs... I want to get back to my old fit self and exercise is going to be a big part of that....

    Today I am going to do "5-songs" on my elliptical (20 - 35 minutes depending on which songs come on - it is more fun than keeping track of time :) and then take the pups for a 30 minute walk / jog... I have a charity event to go to tonight so I think that will be all I can get it.

    Fitness Challenges!

    Wednesday….. 4-Aug ….. Do 60 Minutes of CARDIO

    Thursday….…. 5-Aug ….. Do 100 Crunches

    Friday…...…… 6-Aug ….. Weigh-in Day / 30 Minutes of Cardio

    Saturday…….. 7-Aug ….. 50 Lunges / 50 Crunches / 50 Squats

    Sunday………. 8-Aug ….. Relax!!!

    Great! Welcome everyone! The group weigh-in will be on Friday mornings... but feel free to keep your own weigh-in day and just update the list as we go along! the challenge starts friday... in these next two days try to get everything together that you want to use... good shoes to run/walk in... weights, mat etc... you can use as much or as little as you want... the point is just to get moving!

    Awesome! There's so many of us now! I am all signed up on About.com too. Let's get this started and drop some serious weight!!

    Maybe this is a good idea, maybe bad buttt, would you guys be interested in keeping like a group weight loss total at the bottom of our name/weight chart? I think it would kinda really make us feel like a unit working together towards a common goal. I bet the number at the end will really be something to be proud of. We are all in this to get fit, and help each other out right? We can look at this group and see how much of a difference we have all made together!
