I'm looking at buying a HRM to log calories I burn. I was looking around ebay and came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/Sport-Stop-Watch-Calorie-Counter-Heart-Rate-Monitor-New-/270611513039?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f01b3fecf . Any thoughts on how well you think it'd work?

The better ones come with a chest strap.

But for $6, it wouldn't hurt to try it.

i tried going the cheap route...didnt work for me...i ended up not getting what i wanted...i spent $65 (which is not expensive and not too cheap) on a polar F4 and I love it! i found it online, the $65 included shipping and the chest strap!

Hmmm, ever hear the old adage "you get what you pay for"? I would save the $6 and try going to a sports store, or even Walmart if you're looking for a cheaper HRM. I bought my first HRM at Walmart and while it sucks for the type of exercise I now do (running, tennis, jumping up and down), it still works... I just have to stop and press a button for it to read my heart rate.

If you're into spending a little more money, before you buy online, I would check out the different types available at sports-related stores. I'm finally convinced to buy a new one (I hate pressing the button every time I want an update, so I need one with a chest strap).

Just my opinion, but hope it helps.

I have the polar F4 also and I love it! Works great for me.
