Question for those who are successful eating fewer carbs

I am new to lowering my carbs. My goal is to not cut them out, but to stay between 100 and 150 for now. My quesiton is, do I need to be worried about my calories and My carb consumption or just focus on the carbs?

I also would love to know what kinds of low carb foods should I be focused on, and which ones are a great source of fiber.

One last question, do you count your fruit/veggies against you?

I don't want to say Ill never eat pizza or cereal or all of those things, I'd just like to eat the better kind like whole grains and wheats. Thanks for your help!

Focus on adding protein and the carb ratio will drop if you're staying consistent in calorie intake.

    eat more chicken/veggies.

You'll find if you just cut bread and pasta out- you can get 100 or so from veggies alone- or like say sweet potatoes. I'm sitting at 50 for the day currently and I've had 6 eggs- cup of veggies, more veggies and chicken curry (no rice) with veggies.

    Yes!

I focus on proteins, it can be challenging though.
Fish like tuna or salmon are great additions to your diet.

I try to keep my carbs between 50-80. Most days are veggies and turkey or chicken.

I am doing it to get my blood sugar in control, but I have been losing at a pretty steady pace.

To be honest I have had a few days where It was hard to get my calories up to 1200 so I added some cheese, nuts and cook with olive oil.

You can add me as a friend if you want, I share my diary with friends.

I'm no expert but what I find is when I eat bread, pasta and spuds I pile on the weight and feel sluggish when I don't I maintain on loose and have more energy. I still have weet-bix for breakfast every morning though =).
I don't focus on proteins and stuff I just substitute eg. where I would have had meat and two veg one being spuds I instead have mushrooms meat and mixed veg. For me this way is easier.

I have diabeties so I have to watch my carbs. Aim for like 40 to 45 carbs per meal and you should be fine. I have no desire to take carbs completely out of my diet but I opt for healthy carbs like fruits and whole grains...that way you get the fiber too. Good luck!

You have to try it for yourself. Some of us respond better to a lower carb plan. Personally, I have found the fat loss far more consistent with the lesser carb option, but I know a lot have no problem achieving their goals with more carbs. I will be the first to admit it does make going out to dinner far more difficult since it is such a significant part of the NA diet.
