Best Peanut Butter?

I am looking to order a peanut butter online as most UK stores only stock the likes of Sun-Pat and Skippy, any recommendations??

I actually use the Skippy Natural peanut butter. Do you not like that kind? It's the least expensive natural PB around me here in the States, and I think it tastes pretty good, too.

My favorite is making it myself. Takes about 5 minutes, and I can change up the variety of nuts, to get a different flavor. All you need is a good food processor and peanuts, or cashews, almonds whatever you want :)

There are several Natural varieties. In these you have to mix the oil back into the PB because of the lack of emulsion agents. The oil usually sits on top. I like to scoop out about half of it before mixing it back.

if you are in the UK most big shops will stock whole earth peanut butter, you can get no added sugar etc. Love the whole earth crunchy! :)

lwoodroff - I have used whole earth in the past, but have heard that any peanut butter with palm oil in it isnt as good as others? Does it matter if it has palm oil in it, or is it a case of peanut butter is peanut butter!?

    Confused???!!

Whole Earth crunchy peanut butter is amazing!! You can get it in Tesco's, Sainsbury's, etc. Its usually about £3 for a large jar but Tesco have it on offer every few months so I usually stock up then. :) It is so delicious. I'm eating some on Nimble now as I write this.

I'm in Canada and can only get PB2 on a trip to the US so when home I buy natural Kraft PB.

Firstly, yep PB2 is alright, if you want a ton of PB and no calories, go for it. You can get it for about £7 a jar in the UK. However, it has hardly any protein in it, and I would rather eat proper stuff

I buy proper PB (no added anything) in kilo tubs.

I bought Meridian smooth from Auravita who I would recommend (£5.22) http://www.auravita.com/product/Meridian-Natural-Smooth-Peanut-Butter-No-Salt.NAST12904.html Look for free carriage deals, or buy more to offset carriage.

And next time I am going to get it from here (£4.49) http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/shop-by-category/foods/peanut-butter.html

I think BEST is personal preference, but healthiest would be any that have nothing added. Like those two.

In the UK - Skippy. Failing that the Waitrose Organic is pretty nice too.

If you can get to a Whole Foods - PB & Co Old Fashioned - it's just peanuts and a little bit of salt.

Two super healthy options I could come up with and you can find in the UK are:

Meridian peanut butter -> Ingredients: 99% peanuts, 1% salt
    http://www.meridianfoods.co.uk/index.asp?Dietry=Wheat Free&details=49
They sell it here I beleive:
    http://www.realfoods.co.uk/

Whole Earth no added sugar peanut butter --> ingredients: 97% peanuts, palm oil, sea salt.
    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=275503756

Also meridian comes with a no added salt version. Just peanuts. You can find it here:

so PB2 has 5 grams of protein for 45 calories for 2 tablespoons where your "proper stuff" has 7 grams of protein for 180 calories for 2 tablespoons.
I do not see the big difference in anything but the calories and fat. Although at that price I would probably eat regular peanut butter as it is nowhere near that expensive here in the States.

You rehydrate the pb2 in water milk yogurt etc. For my money it isn't a substitute but good for adding extra protein.

Agreed. That one is my favourite by far.

I also don't mind Pic's Really Good Peanut Butter if I can't get 100% Nutz.
