    Breast cancer gene means 87% chance of developing breast cancer. No natural breast tissue = no chance of breast cancer (which can metastasize into deadlier forms). I have an aunt who did the same thing.

    That article is intellectually dishonest.

    Don't you find it surprising that they don't provide a link to the "review" performed by the WCRF? (a very respectable UK charity unlike that blog)

    The suggestion is that processed meat increases the risk of bowel cancer (not all forms of cancer). If people are concerned with this risk of cancer they can consider some proper advice from the WCRF found here which suggests avoiding / minimising processed meats if at all possible:

    There is a recent study that found a correlation between eating processed meat and a slightly higher death rate from all causes. The more interesting point to that study was that it found no significant correlation between red meat consumption and a higher death rate from all causes. If someone doesn't have it available now, I'll dig around and find it after I run some errands this morning. Two very important points though, (1) correlation does not equal causation, and (2) bacon.

    Edited to note that the article referenced in the OP is an inflammatory piece of propaganda, not science.

    Vine of Life? I'm assuming this is going to be a Pro Vegetarian, Anti Meat website. Sounds non-biased to me! Can we get some solid concrete proven evidence? I'm saying this as a long term veggie.
