To the very best of my knowledge a couple drops of lemon juice in water is pretty much negligible calorie wise... and the only way I've found to preserve lemons is to either refrigerate(the lemon) or can the juice. Which in that case, and trust me I've done it, just buy it already jarred/bottled0

i didn't really understand a word of that, But i keep my lemon in the fridge.0 -
I buy lemons by the bag, keep them in the frig, and they never go moldy. I probably keep them for a couple of weeks or longer without any problems. I do use them a lot in my cooking.0

also because of that they are not really juicey so i put then in the microwave for 10 secs0

I have a tree in my backyard that produces all year long. There are so many lemons I can't give them all away (neighbors, family, etc.) Yes, there are so few calories in a squeeze of lemon juice that I wouldn't even bother counting them. If I use more than a squeeze I want credit, though, since I'm tracking my vitamin C. :drinker:0

Fridge should work. Are you leaving them on the counter?0

I don't like keeping fresh lemons on hand but I like it in my water, and I found that the lemon juice in the squeeze bottles (or green glass bottles) didn't really taste the same. On the suggestion of a friend I started using True Lemon, which is a crystalized lemon powder that you can buy on amazon.com. I keep a few packets in my purse so I can add lemon flavor to water where ever I am. Tastes better than the lemon juice, doesn't spoil, portable--it's perfect!0

yes im leaving them in the c ounter was told not to put them in fridge. oh geez LOL0

I slice them, put them in snack baggies and freeze them.
Whole ones I score to allow for expansion, baggies again and freeze.
Works great!0 -
juice 'em and freeze...0

juice 'em and freeze...
yeah or that, Perfect to add to water on a hot day0 -
Also, if you start seeing one turning, remove it from the others. If they touch each other, they go bad faster. I'm not sure why but I used to work at a farm stand and can tell you it's true lol.0

oh ye sim gonna try that slice and put in baggies and freeze
thanks0 -
If you look at a bottle of 100% lemon juice 1 teaspoon has 0 calories and a whole lemon has 17 calories so if you're really worried about that 17 calories when you finish the whole lemon add it. Otherwise don't worry about it at all0
