I try to look at where I am for the day. If it's the end of my eating and I need a bunch of cals I would eat some nuts. just 1/3 of a cup will bump me up almost 300 cals to get me there. Look if your snack need to help out your protein count. You can have an apple with peanut butter, nuts, trail mix, I buy Pepperride Cracker Chips, if your protein and cals are high enough you can have fruit or veggies too. I'll eat a small box of yogurt covered raisins if I am not too hungry but am just craving sweets. I eat frozen yogurt & barriers, or yogurt granola and berries stirred in a bowl. I also go to a protein bar or protein shake but that's not always for everyone. I mix all kids of different things in my protein shakes to make them tasty.0

My go-to snacks are peanut butter, almond butter, pickle or string cheese. I am usually not hungry enough anymore to snack, but that is what I do.

raspberries, strawberries, or banana (depending on what I have)
turkey jerky
protein shake (I have 2 a day)

I usually have some Greek yogurt to get some protein in. I also really like vegetables with pita bread and hummus, dry cereal, baked chips, or very dark chocolate. I also have "junk" like cookies or ice cream every once in awhile-- especially if I've hit all my vitamin, fiber, and iron levels for the day.0

Almond or coconut milk yogurt, any kind of fruit, pistachios or cashews, guac and veggies to dip in, protein shake, a muffin if I made some, jerky, hummus with veggies...I cycle through things as I get focused on using a few things per week usually depending on what I buy when grocery shopping. But these are what I snack on most.0

they're a super neat toy. Basically put them in water and they gel up. Lot of fun to be had with that. I used to make an "energy goo" that was chia, cocoa powder, agave, and water.0 -

If I'm hungry to the point where I simply cannot wait to eat something, the mistake has already been made. More frequent eating simply has not been shown to make a measurable increase in "metabolism" in controlled studies, so there is no reason to be snacking unless you simply enjoy it, which is completely fine if it works for you.I don't, and it doesn't, because if nibble on food all day I'll eat you out of house and home.
I think it really comes down to hunger management. When you know that you're counting what you eat and that you're getting what your body needs to stay healthy while losing weight, it becomes a lot easier to simply accept that you're hungry, and just wait an hour or so for your next normal meal. Becoming okay with feeling hunger is not the same as depriving yourself, although there is a fine line that everyone has to find for themselves.0 -
fruits- apple, pear, banana...0

Typical snacks for me...I snack a lot:
- Beef Jerky
- berries (all varieties)
- Apples and/or apples with peanut butter
- nuts
- trail mix (I usually make my own with a variety of mixed nuts and dried fruits and yogurt chips)
- cheese0 -
Depends on how I'm doing elsewise for the day: how much I've eaten, how active I've been. Could be peanut butter (off a measuring spoon because I like just peanut butter) or could be broccoli.
Fruits, veggies are my go to for lower calorie snacks. Quest bar is my go to for moderate. Nuts and nut butters are my calorie bumpers.0 -
larabars
fruit
almonds
pieces of turkey0 -
Almond butter and apple
Almond butter and celery
almonds
avocados and 3 rice flax crackers
raspberries
greek yogurt
cottage cheese
seaweed snacks
veggies and hummus
i am always looking for healthy fast snacks as i do eat 6 or more times a day0 -
Thanks for the great suggestions. I always snack because 3 meals a day is not enough for my appetite0
