    meme
    /mēm/
    Noun
An element of a culture or behavior that may be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, esp. imitation.
An image, video, etc. that is passed electronically from one Internet user to another.

If you google it, you'll also have the option of clicking on a little speaker and listening to it

ARG I did the same thing but you beat me to it

"Define "whatever word" in google will give you the definition

My 15 yo nephew told me it's pronounced "meem".

I always thought it was "me me" like it's spelled, but, as he pointed out to me, I'm old so I wouldn't know the right way to say it. :noway:

It is pronounced meem. There is no question about this.

Richard Dawkins created the term, and specifically stated that he wanted it to sound like "gene".

Direct citation from his book is in the wikipedia article

It's me-m. Like me, then just a plain m sound. Mimi is me-me, in fact, I call one of my grandmothers that.

meem. The second e changes the sound of the first e from a short vowel ( eh sound, like men) to a long vowel.

Does that word even exist outside of the internet?

I've only ever seen it in writing and have never spoken it.
