Couldn't read it because a subscription box popped up, had no way of closing, and wouldn't move out of the way. But just the title sounds like a load of crap. You're lying when you say you'll never use a microwave again. :)
I agree with the others, this was an ODD response to someone merely sharing their thoughts of what they plan to do. One doesn't have to agree but there's no reason to call someone a liar merely because of that:noway: .
  • everyone, BREATHE!

    thx for the info.

Woah, hey. Slow down a minute. Does nobody get the use of a smiley face at the end of that last sentence? It was a playful statement! Kind of like the difference between.... "I hate you :)" and "I hate you."

It's like... eh, body language... Over the internet.

Mercola is a little bit of a quack scientist - putting the fear of everything into people. Like, you should not keep a digital alarm clock by your bed because the radio waves will disrupt your sleep and cause you brain cancer. But he's also put out some very helpful information, for example the advantages of megadosing vitamin D.

I do believe that in cooking anything - be it in a microwave, boiling, steaming - you will lose some of the nutrients in the food. But can I eat everything raw???... maybe, but I sure wouldn't like the taste or effect of eating raw chicken

Something to consider but I never use plastic in my microwave when reheating something and very rarely, if ever, buy microwavable foods. I do use it to thaw out meat. The thing that really grabbed me was this: "New Study Confirms Microwaves Affect Your Heart
A recent study examining the effects 2.4 GHz radiation (which is the frequency of radiation emitted by Wifi routers and microwave ovens) on the heart was just completed"

I suppose I am going to have to get rid of my Wifi now :(

Eh...if it isn't one thing, it's another that will kill ya! I admire the choices that all of you have made! It takes some kahuna's to just toss that modern technology out the door! Personally I would love to learn a thing or two from the Amish but in this 95+ degree heat, I'm afraid I would miss my AC!
  • I didn't read the article but I am suprised by some of the negative comments.Really? Is anybody that suprised that microwaving food isn't the best option? I'm pretty sure that eating food as close as you can to it's natural state(yea, duh i'm not talking raw meat here people) is what is best for you and I'm pretty sure that microwave ovens don't come from nature. The truth is that I would love to get rid of my microwave but being that I live in a world of convenience I have grown accustomed to the occasional lazy microwave meal. I think the truth is that we, people, don't really know what the long term effects of all the chemicals and technologies that we bombard ourselves with these days. I do believe that the farther we remove ourselves from our natural way of living the worse off we are.To me that is just common sense.

I totally picked up on that... just thought I would say so since you've had a lot of nasty replies :flowerforyou:

Oh and in response to the post - I think it's a load of rubbish. If I need to use the microwave I do but generally I think stuff tastes better cooked on the stove. I'm genuinely surprised at how passionate some people seem to be about it.
  • No doubt!

My microwave broke and I'm too cheap & poor to get a new one.
My fridge is in the garage because I have to remove my kitchen door to get it in the kitchen and I'm too lazy to do it.
Fridge produces lots of radiation I heard.
I hardly use my cell phone because I get charge by the minute and I'm tooo cheap!

Conclusion: sometimes it's not bad to be to be cheap and lazy.

I stopped reading after it suggested that microwaving food was the same as irradiating it. Whoever wrote that steaming pile of cr*p needs to go back to school and take Physics 101 again.
