Cardio days?

So, I'm doing New Rules of Lifting for women and Im at stage 3 (almost done with it) and at the end of 1 of the 2 alternating workouts it has 15 min interval training. Now i was wondering, I haven't been doing this, but I do separate cardio days when i do interval training for 30-45 mins, so is this okay instead of the 15 min interval training at the end of the lifting workout?

You may want to look at the NROLFW group here on MFP. They can probably help you best.

30-45 mins interval training? Are you sure you're doing it properly i.e flat out on the high intervals, as 15-20 mins is usually all most people can do - more exercise for less time.

I don't think it matters if you do it on separate days, doing it after weight training is recommended for max fat loss, but conversely if you do it on separate days you can no doubt work at higher intensity.

I barely just started NROLFW, but i actually find it easier to do my running (working on 10k) right after the lifting. i'm just too sore the next day. this way, i am just tired, not hurting :)
as for whether it makes a difference - dunno, if it works for you, why change it? are your results ok? energy levels?

I've just finished (this morning) the NROLFW Stage 2 and I do the 15 minute interval training afterwards. I usually do the program 3 days per week.

I also run a 5k twice a week to try and improve my time. If I'm really sore from either workouts I take a break but it seems to be working for me so far.

I think the best thing for you would be to listen to your body and how you feel - If you feel okay after the work outs continue as you are. Good luck in the program! I'm really enjoying it so far :)
