i feel so stupid for making this post because i know that 1,500 isnt a really bad amount, like i wouldnt feel guilty about it if it had just been one day and it had just been normal sorts of food, but i've had over 1,500 two days in a row when my goal is 1,200 a day and its all been junk food and idk i just really need some people to comment and give me some advice as to how and make myself feel better and just some encouragement that its not that bad what i ate sort of thing?

Is that you in your profile pic? You're already very slim, why are you trying to lose more weight?
maybe you can't see how great you look already?0 -
No need to panic, you can either start over, or reduce your calorie intake for the rest of the week so that it levels out overall x0
-
You can look at my diary and see how much I eat and feel good that you are way below my calories even when eating at 1500. :flowerforyou:0
-
first of all, based on the profile picture, you are TINY! why are you even counting calories?! even a bad day or two will not derail hard work. just make up your mind to not overeat tomorrow and if you do, just try to grab some celery or carrots instead of chips or whatever the case may be. dont get discouraged. i was on 1200 kals for the loongest time, and recently just up'd myself to allow 1500 a day and i already feel soOo much better. breathe. relax. tomorrow is a new day:)0
-
Don't sweat it !! I was doing fine until sat. afternoon when the cocktails started. You know its a holiday weekend and I'm going to enjoy myself. I will try to watch how much but I'm giving my self a break. If you have to just make some adjustments to your calories over the next few days.... :drinker:0

I lost 20 pounds eating 1600-1700 a day. Chillaxes, you will be a-okay!0
-
you should be eating more than 1500 being so young.0
-
its not, i just like the photo!0
-
ah thank you all so much! just to make it clear, its not me in my picture, i just like the photo, i should probably change it because its kinda misleading, but thank you for making me feel better, its what i needed0
-
I net around 1700 Don't feel guilty! I did the 1200 calories thing till I realised it just wasn't enough for me! So I upped the calories and my body no longer went all "feed me everything in sight!!"0
-
I eat 1500 a day. I lose weight steadily..
(been having a hard time losing because of cheat meals and stress)0 -
thats a good point! maybe the reason that i sort of had a mini 'binge' is because i've been on the whole 1,200 net for ages, its probably too little for me, so 1,500 for two days is okay i guess0

^^^^ this. (I lose on 1850 cals/day) Most people can eat more than they think and still lose weight. Aim for slow and steady fat loss, and for your goal to be long term maintenance, i.e. set your calories at a level where you can stick with them, yet it's still less than you burn off so you still lose. this is a marathon, not a sprint. The less you have to lose, the more careful you have to be to eat enough. There are various threads on here, such as the one "in place of a road map" where you can calculate how many calories you can eat and still lose weight. For most people, it's more than they think.0 -
I'm eating 1800 to lose weight (30 pounds down and still going)0

what sort of foods are you eating though? like i would feel less guilty about it if it would have been healthy ish food, but most of it was junk like chocolate0 -
Er, love, your ticker says your trying to get from 105lbs to 87lbs? If you're taller than 4'9, then that's really not a good idea.
Dieting at the age of nineteen to get down to underweight has some pretty serious health implications. You are still growing (especially your brain!). This is not the time to be mean to your body.
Please, talk to someone about this.0 -
Your goal weight is set to 87 pounds. How tall are you? I think you can eat 1500 or more calories and still be a healthy weight. Teens should focus more on activity level and nutritious foods rather than calorie restriction.0

Your ticker on your profile says you currently weigh less than 100 lbs. and your goal weight is 87 lbs... I think I've found your problem right there. I believe there are professionals who are much better equipped to answer all your questions and talk about your concerns than a bunch of us strangers on a website. Please seek some quality help.0

you should try not to feel guilty over food. Eating is not a sin or a crime. Losing weight is for health, you're not in jail. You are allowed to enjoy food, including junk food. You just have to a) feed your body what it needs and b) keep it all within your calorie goal. Focus on a) first, i.e. feed your body what it needs: protein, healthy fat, healthy carbs, vitamins, minerals, fibre and water. When you've done that, whatever calories you have left over, eat what you fancy. And also make sure your calorie goal is reasonable, i.e. for slow and steady fat loss for long term success and maintenance. Undereating will screw up your long term success. And if you go over on your calories, don't feel guilty, just think "oooops, mustn't do that too often" and get back on track....0 -

i changed it because its not completely accurate, i don't think i weigh that little, my scales are a bit all over the place so they're really not accurate at all, but if i change it now it will say ive gained and then it will be wrong, so0 -

I eat chocolate virtually everyday. Carrots and dip, pita and hummus, eggs and mayo, popchips, turkey 'chili', more chocolate, bagels with peanut butter, bread with honey, french toast. Whatever I feel like eating.0 -

If you're even close to 100lb (give or take a not so accurate scale) you really do not need to lose weight. If you really don't like how your body looks at 100lb (or thereabouts) then my advice is to eat more and do more exercise, preferably something that works your muscles, and build your body up. Healthy is what looks best, and healthy is not something that's defined by a number on the scale. Try your very best to see how beautiful you already are, and if you want to make improvements, then do so by being more healthy, not by trying to lose more weight!!0 -

that's so good, and you've lost so much!! you should be so proud! okay, i'm definitely not as guilty about what i;ve eaten now, because i did enjoy what i ate, so its stupid to feel guilty, its actually good cause i've eaten 1,200 calories for ages so i kind of deserved a reward sort of thing! plus i think i was noticing weight loss too fast, which is a bad thing because i know i'm not 'desperate' to lose weight, i want to take it slowly and lose weight at a reasonable pace, because otherwise it might get unhealthy!
thank you all so much for making me feel better about what i ate, i realize now that it was okay for me to have a little slip up, especially because it wasn't even that bad!0 -

yeah its me! thank you so much, i think i just count my calories because, i guess i'm not 100% happy with my body, like i would like to be a little bit smaller/lighter, but i want to get to my goal weight at a very slow rate! and the reason i limit my calorie intake, is because i know that if i dont, and i just think 'oh well you only live once just eat what you want and enjoy it' i will eat way way to much, and i'll just end up so big! so im just trying to stop that from happening!0 -

you have to eat 3500 calories more than all of what you burn in a day, to put on just 1lb of fat. it's not something that is going to happen quickly, and not something you should be fearing, as you're already very slender. Once you get as slim as you are, you can't really make more improvements by dropping more weight. You make improvements by how you work out, and actually by eating more. This. You are going to ruin your metabolism, and then you really will have problems with trying to maintain a healthy weight when you get older. You do not need to lose weight. You need to work on treating your body kindly, giving it the correct amount of nutrition, and aiming for fitness and strength, not frailty and emaciation. You only get one body, and if you mess it up, well, it is very difficult to undo that.0
