I keep hearing how amazing green tea is for you but I can't seem to find a way to drink it that is appetizing. I can guzzle down a glass or 2 but I never really reach for it as my first choice. So as a healthy alternative I swear by...
1 bag of hibiscus tea
1 fresh mint leaf
1 tsp of wildflower honey
(Hot or cold)
It's amazing, a great alternative to juice, and packed with antioxidants. Also it's a pretty pink color.

Your recipe sounds delish and I have saved it for the next time I go shopping (need mint leaf).
Buuuuut in response to you not liking green tea, I never liked green tea until I learned how easy it is to over brew it. There is a specific water temperature and time needed to brew it to perfection, and you must remove the bag/leafs. This website gives you tips and tricks and includes a chart for the various different teas. Once you have made it a few times, you get better at cutting corners, I never check the temperature of my water anymore, I just know when it's ready, I do have a fancy tea timer set however.

I have a local Teavana which is where I get my teas, I also usually use loose leaf. My absolute favourite green is the Moroccan Mint Green tea, (http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/green-teas/p/moroccan-mint-green-tea). I would recommend seeing if you have one near you and making a trip, they usually have samples available and some will even brew you some to try.
Another thing, I live in North Houston, where it's hot most of the year so I like to drink my tea iced. When I make my teas, I usually heat the water to almost boiled, and add to two table spoons of loose leaf in a large half gallon container, brew for five minutes, and pour through a strainer into a gallon pitcher, add ice up to a gallon. This is a very forgiving method. I've only tried this with green and white tea, but the result for me is always a delicious pitcher of healthy iced tea with no sweetener needed. I can easily get through a pitcher a day.0 -
I love both white and green tea, plain. Yes, they can be over brewed. My electric tea kettle makes the water too hot for them (which makes the tea bitter or acidic tasting), so I make it about 3/4 full, boil, then top up with cool water. Comes out perfect every time.0

I agree with you, I loathe green tea and have tried it numerous ways... like drinking grass. I am sick of people telling me how good it is for me and trying to shove it down my throat. Everyone is different! My personal fave is peppermint tea in a very tall mug, 2 peppermint tea bags and one whole lemon. I know, a lot of lemon, lol, I'm addicted to it!!0

I was the same a girl at work drinks so much green tea and when I asked how she can drink that stuff she said it took her a long time to like it she had to force herself to drink it and now she says that she craves it. She suggested I try the flavoured tea bags. I found using green tea bags that are flavored with vanilla or using some vanilla stevia helps. Also pomegranate flavoured green tea is good too0

For the best flavor in green tea I would recommend looking into any loose leaf variety (different varieties, based on the region where they were grown, will have different flavors). Green tea is also very delicate so it takes care in steeping it. From boiling, let your water sit 1-2 minutes before pouring it over your tea (for both white and green) and remove tea leaves in 2.3 minutes (1-2 for white). One of my favorite green teas is Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose.0
