Daily protein intake?

Hi all,

I am currently weighing in at about 175lbs (12st7) and at 18% bodyfat.

I'm trying to lose a stone while trying to get my bodyfat down to about 15%. I'd like to do this over 6 weeks (when I go on holiday) but it will probably take longer.

I run on a morning 5 times a week for about 40 minutes at a low intensity and then weight train 3 times a week, with an intervals session on one other night.

My question is, in my meal planner, the protein and carbohydrate goals look weird. I've always thought you should keep the carbs really low (about 30g a day) when cutting and the protein around 1g/every lb of lean mass (which is around 140 atm). This isn't reflected in my meal planner, it's saying I should be munching around 90g of protein and 140g of carbs!

I'm confused, can anyone help?

You can (and probably should) adjust your macros.

Click in the top menu on goals > change goals > custom.

You can set your macros to whatever percent from your calories that you want them to be. The default MFP settings probably aren't the best for your goals so you should change them.

You can change the macros to whatever you want them to be if you have a different food plan to follow. Click goals and choose custom instead of guided.

^^ This. Change your goals to 50p/20c/30f
