1 week kickstart/detox ideas???

so im doing my last ever university exam tomorrow!!! and after that i told myself i would be ALL OVER this weight loss journey thing

but i know me, and i need to see some results quick to motivate me to get going!

does anyone have any ideas how to lose as much weight as possible in a week? i dont really care if its not that healthy because im well aware that the eating less exercise more cliche is a cliche for a reason! and thats fully what ill be doing for the long run

Cut out carbohydrates for one week, i.e. try to stay under or at 20g of carbs per day. The "weight loss" you see on the scale at the end of the week will mainly be water but it is a good way to kickstart a weight loss because seeing those numbers will encourage you to keep going.

Many people that are doing a ketogenic diet stay at these numbers all the time so it isn't dangerous in any way. The first time I tried it I lost 6lb in one week, after that I went on to a moderate 1lb/week.

That's my best advice for a kick start! Good luck

  • i lost 6 lbs in a week by consuming 1200 calories a day (I'm not talking about "net calories" but real number of consumed calories), exercising every day and not eating any bread/pasta/cereals, etc.

I think there is a difference between detox (to get yourself off foods which trigger eating) and just starving yourself.

On a detox, you'd be cutting out dairy, any refined grains, all processed foods, drinking 1/2 your body weight in water, and eliminating caffeine.

Most people feel great about 10 days on a true detox and it sets the stage for better eating.

congrats, when you stall out dont come back to the forums with a "im not losing on a 1200 calorie a day diet" thread....

The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup detox apparently works really well...

Try a 3-5 day juice fast, there are lots of recipes available for different juices to get in all of your vitamin needs

It will make you loose a lot of weight quickly, albeit water weight, but if your just looking for a quick boost could be something for you.

I'd not recommend doing it for any longer as you will really start flagging, I am not trying to loose weight but when I want to just drop some pounds for a wedding so just for a day, I do a quick juice fast to slim me down for an outfit :)

Obviously note that you will then gain the most or all of the weight back when you start eating again, but good for a little boost and starter :)

It's asking for advice on unsafe ways to lose a large amount in a short period of time and you stated you didn't care if it was healthy which really sums up that you aren't serious about making a lifestyle change, just looking for a quick fix.

My constructive advice: You don't need a "kickstart"; just start. The truth is, losing weight and maintaining weight loss is a long, boring process, whether you've got a lot to lose or a little. Your profile says "no more crash diets", and that's a good start. Stop looking for quick fixes and kick starts and just get on with making the changes you need to make. If you can't stay motivated without fast results, then you're not going to get very far.

You don't need to look far on this site to find stories of women who got sucked into the dieting cycle at your age and dieted themselves ever fatter over the next few decades. You've (apparently) already spent 3 years yoyo dieting, take the opportunity to put all that behind you. Create a moderate calorie deficit, get prepared to be patient and go for it.

actually i think youre trying to twist my words, its losing as much weight as possible in a week, if you think thats 1lb then you could have said that (or just not commented at all..) and im not sure youre in a position to assume what im going to do in my future life?! why do people always assume the worst in people?!
