Protein and Alcohol - together?!

Okay, I'm on some heavy painkillers right now (see my other recent post for details) so my brain is a little crazy right now. So this might be just plain stupid. But bear with me!
I just saw a recipe for a "mudslide protein shake." Now, it was non-alcoholic, it's just supposed to taste like a mudslide I guess. But then I had this crazy idea. What if I made it... but made it alcoholic like a real mudslide? You know, just threw some Kahlua and Baileys in there? Would the alcohol somehow ruin the effects of the protein or what? I might feel better about drinking a mudslide at parties if it was protein packed...
I KNOW THIS IS RIDICULOUS BUT HUMOR ME. I'M STUCK IN BED AND BORED.

I'd love you to try it and report back0

I have no idea about the protein, but I can't see it any different than vodka/redbull. I made a Vodka/Vanilla protein shake in the blender and it was damn tasty! Cheers!0

I did lager on top of a protein shake yesterday evening with no ill effects.
A protein mudslide sounds epic0 -

Hahahah. Okay, you're right, I worded that stupidly. I guess what I meant was that I usually use protein to help retain/repair my muscle, but I know alcohol can have the opposite effect on muscle. So would they cancel each other out?0 -

I am not allowed to do that on the meds I'm currently on, but as soon as I'm off them, you'd better believe I'm experimenting with this!0 -
I'd me more concerned about whether you should you be mixing the painkillers with alcohol?
oops, no worry you just answered0 -
I have thought many a time of mixing protein powder with vodka and soda. Never got around to it though:). I am aware that my red wine does use up calories that could help up my protein.0

Red wine and steak, white wine and fish. Beer and hot wings. People drink alcohol with food all the time with no ill effects.0

well I saw the title and thought "wine and peanuts"
I'm sure as long as the protein shake blends then it'll be great...I'd try it!:drinker:0 -
Alright, as soon as I am medically able, I will try this out and report back!
And for anyone interested, this was the protein mudslide recipe:
-1 scoop chocolate protein powder
-1/2 cup frozen strawberries
-1/2 cup frozen banana
-1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
-1 cup milk of choice0 -

This is very true. I've done a poor job explaining what I meant haha. I guess I meant if I'm using a protein shake as a supplement, especially as a post-workout supplement to increase muscle, would mixing it with alcohol render it pointless?0 -
Arnold has mentioned in interviews that he mixed his protein powder with whiskey. I think you will be fine.0

Sounds to me as though you'd have a supplement and a relaxant all in one. Maybe a good thing?0 -

This!
Except becoming fat if you over indulge and getting drunk if you drink too much0 -
