I've to take a medicated drink each day which is over 450 cals. Now should I count these cals as part of my calorie allowance per day or add them on to my daily allowance?

I'm guessing it would depend on what it is for, what other macros it contains, and what your daily calorie base is set to... if you open your diary people can take a look and get an idea of how many additional calories you may need.

Ask your doctor and your pharmacist.

I would add 450 calories to your 1200 for a total of 1650 calories a day and make very wise choices on the rest of your day (lots of fruits and veggies, and whole grains. Otherwise you are not going to have much left.

Closed diary, hard to be sure.

It's food, you're taking it in. Log it as food.

What's in it - is it "nutritionally complete" with added mins & vits ? does it have a name ?

It is what it is. You need to include that in your daily calorie intake and just be very careful to get what you need nutritionally in the balance of your calories.
