I am considering issuing a challenge in my house for the summer.
If it has more than 5 ingredients, we don't use it in any foods.

Of course, this also removes eating out from the choices.

Not sure if I will do it or not. Maybe I will start with a week.

I want to see if my children can survive without highly processed foods.

What are your thoughts on this idea? Is 5 ingredients too many? too few?

What is your motivation behind this?

    Weight loss? Health?

They will survive without processed foods. Just stop buying them.

If there is only apple slice a carrot sticks for snacks they will eat those. If the fruit and veggies are an option but a cookie is also an option, most children will pick the cookie.

Mainy just to show them that they can do it and try to get them re-adjusted to healthy choices.

They are very active and that part I am not worried about. I just want all of us to make better choices and I thought it might be fun to see what we can come up with.

Yes, I know, if you don't buy it, it won't be here to choose. I am not talking about cookies here. More about pasta, rice, and boxed prepared quick foods.
