Nuts or peanut butter can fill that some of that void quickly.

Lol no, my daily goal is 2020, I haven't even exercised today, which I plan to do 30 minutes of... :(
  • I struggle with this all the time - fat free greek yoghurt is a good one!

Love the Rhodesian by the way

Err fruit, veg, yoghurt, nuts? You don't get overweight by struggling to eat enough.

Great that you've planned 3 meals, now plan some calorie-dense snacks! Peanut butter, nuts, throw some olive oil with a meal if you can....

I'd be dancing from the rooftop if I planned out and had 800 cals left! haha

i try things like avacado, snack on carrots and home made hummus, its a tough one to get the calorie intake, peanut butter is good.

A lot of good advice here re: nuts and such. I would add, you are only at 50% of your goal for fat for the day, which further supports this approach.

If you've meet your nutrition goals (macro & micros preferably as well) for the day then - whatever takes your fancy...

ETA: having looked at your diary I would eat a nice juicy steak and a side of fine green beans with garlic butter ;)

Nuts and cheese are my saviours for this type of day or how about adding some calories to your meals, maybe a nice dressing?

    I get 1200 Calories a Day.
I have that problem all of the time as I do not eat much. I am retired and get minimal exercise.
    Because of health problems.

I find if I eat avocado, Peanut butter or Greek Yogurt it helps.
I love Oikos Cocanut Vanilla and it has 160 calories in 1 container, and I am still losing.

Don't ask me. I have set myself to ONLY have 1200 a day & after dinner, lunch & snacks eaten...and all exercise logged I still have 1047 cals left to eat. I've already eaten 1105...I can't continue to eat this much...it actually makes me feel sick.

So only eat if you are hungry. No point in eating if you don't feel you need to. That's how most of us got here in the 1st place.

I had a quick look at a week of your diaries and what I saw is as a general rule (in the last week) you are not eating more than 1-2 servings of fruit and veggies and almost no dairy most days short of the skimmed milk in your tea. You're getting lots of grains in bread and cereal bars and it seems you're eating quite a bit of turkey but it seems you're filling yourself up with chips (crisps), ramen and processed foods.

Perhaps to up your calorie intake you might start incorporating 5+ servings of fruit and veg a day along with a few servings of dairy including yogurt or some other type of dairy you enjoy. Also, as mentioned 1-2 servings of healthy oils and fats like nuts and nut butters may help you along toward your weight loss goals. Balancing your diet a bit more may also provide your body with some missing vitamins and minerals, preventing malnutrition and enabling your body to work more effectively and move you toward your goals. Though I know from personal experience it is quite hard sometimes, we have to remember that losing weight and getting healthy is not just about calories in vs. calories out, we have to ensure that we are feeding our bodies appropriately and not inadvertently malnourishing ourselves because of our busy lifestyles. I hope this helped a bit and I wish you the best of luck on your weight and health goals!

    Typical bachelor/student diary :)
If you were cooking I'd say add olive oil in a salad or when frying, it's good for you. I second the steak idea :)

Probably because your planned meals are mostly small and not really full meals in the context of a 2000 calorie diet imo. If you selected home type cooking instead of processed low calorie food you might find it easier.

I used to eat fruit all the time, but then I saw it was high in sugar so it put me off :(

Does the sugar in fruit count, anyway? It's not like the sugar people put in cereal and stuff, it's natural sugar so it cant be that bad, right?

I just changed some of the food that I'll have for dinner, is it any better now?
    100g turkey breast slices
    2 pieces of brown bread
1 baked jacket potato with beans

In my opinion I wouldn't really stress myself out over natural sugars in fruits and veggies, you're correct in that it's not refined and with the sugar in fruit you are getting vitamins and fiber which will keep you full and give your body what it needs. Just bare in mind that fruit can increase your blood sugar quickly so just be careful with how much you eat of what, everything in moderation. If sugar is a real concern for you don't forget about vegetables, they are much lower in sugar than fruit and can really be delicious. Best of luck.
