Stop the madness!
Options
I enter a lot of recipes in MFP to track my calories, and my husbands. Tonight I just wanted to find sugar, regular plain old generic sugar. Do you know how many people felt the need to enter their OWN sugar in the list of foods? Way too many! Seriously, your sugar is not different from other people's granulated sugar! I guarantee you, Publix, Great Value, Wegmans, Costco - they're all just granulated sugar with the same calories and carbs! Please, for the love of all that is holy stop entering a food when it's right there!!! Unless you've got Sugar In The Raw, or that brown crystal stuff I like in my coffee, ok maybe that's different. But if its just the plain old ordinary sugar - JUST PICK ONE don't add another one!
Oh, and how many people need to enter "Romaine Lettuce" . Seriously? I haven't looked into the difference between and "inner leaf" and an "outer leaf" but it's probably not enough to push me over calories. I'm using real sugar, after all (see above)
Why do we do this!
It's bad enough I have to remember how many tablespoons in a cup because the recipe thingy doesn't have measures you'd use when cooking for four, I've kind of accepted that. Can we all agree to stop adding things that are already in there??

I just added 'Sunlight - Rays of Sun' for the people who try to live on nothing but water and sunlight. But now you got me thinking, how many other people are going to add their sunlight? Will there be different brands? Will this cause confusion for future Breatharians?0

Yes, OP. It's madness. So much crap to wade through. And then you have to double-check each one, since half the entries are crazy with inaccuracy. I wish all the garbage entries went to the bottom of the stack and the accurate ones (that have been reviewed and confirmed 400 times) would float to the top. It would speed things up a bit. :explode:0

You're right, OP. We shouldn't have a food database that allows us to add in our own food. Because having to scroll down through everyone else's entries wastes valuable seconds of our precious lives that would otherwise be spent on vital, necessary actions. Like posting long rants on the forums.0 -
