Hello MFP friends!
My name is Amy and today is the first day of the rest of my life! Okay, i know that sounds cheesy, but, really. I need to make a change and today is the day I start to be more aware of how I treat my body. I've got a long way to go, and it won't be easy, but with the support of this wonderful community, I know I will make it!
If you'd like to share some of your tips, tricks, motivations, or inspirations with me, I would love some positive vibes!
Thanks, and good luck!
Amy

Welcome Amy.....and you're right ...today is the first day of the rest of your life. Always remember why you want to be healthier esp. in times of temptation (socials, parties, work lunches, beach days and bbq's) which occur quite often in my life anyway! Feel free to add me for support0

Just starting too, best of luck! Add me if you'd like!0

Eat at a moderate calorie deficit and exercise. Don't weigh yourself constantly. Don't let minor setbacks derail you.
That's it. I wish you the best in achieving your fitness goals.0 -
Good Luck to you!! I just started back myself.
I've found a few blogs that are good for healthy and inexpensive recipes - budget bytes and skinnytaste.
Crockpot recipes have been great for me as far as making things easy, especially when I'm tired after a long day at the office and I don't want to cook0 -
Good luck.0

Hi Amy- today is actually the 3rd day of the rest if my life ....lol I did a restart 3 days ago and so far so good:)
Feel free to add me I'm OCD about logging and plan to start being active more since its summer break and my daughter has decided to elect herself as my fitness coach this summer.0 -
Congrats! My suggestion: take your "before" pics now. I know that I wish I had done so when I started. Feel free to add me! :flowerforyou:0

Keep in mind the saying, "A year from now you'll wish you had started today!" Well, congratulations...you have!
I keep that and other inspirational sayings and pictures on the fridge (perfect spot, I'd say  ) that help me when I go on autopilot and head for a snack. It's stopped me in my tracks many times!
Good luck, realize you'll have some days where you aren't as good as you want...but forgive and move on.0 -

Hi Amy, Today is also the first day of the rest of my life. I have been working on losing my whole life. Plan to make the rest of my days the healthiest. Seeing my mother go down hill and not take care of herself has made me realize what I want to achieve. I wish you all the luck and hope to chat with you and keep each others goals in tack.0

Welcome Amy! I find logging ... the good AND the bad, really helps. It makes you see what works! This program has been fantastic! Stick with it (first 2 weeks are the hardest) and you'll do well YOU CAN DO IT!!!0

Hello!
I just want to wish you luck My Number 1 tip is..
LOG EVERYTHING!
Be honest with yourself, if you have a bad day, couple days, whatever.. Log it! Then move on0 -
Hi Amy!
My tip is the same: log, log, log. I try not to worry about being perfect every single day, but I do want to log EVERY SINGLE DAY. Unless there's no internet. Probably for the rest of my life unless I happen to turn into a different person sometime. You can do it!0 -
Hello!! My name is Leah. I've used myfitness pal before on my cell phone, but never really stuck with it. I have motivation issues lol. But I figured I'm back now and I'd introduce myself and maybe can make a few friends and hoping that will keep me motivated! I'm 23 years old, married and have two beautiful little girls. And Now it's time to work off that baby weight!!0

Good luck! I'm new also, you can add me if you would like!0

Make small changes, don't diet! That will kill your motivation quicker that anything. I started with making sure I ate at least 3 servings of fruits/veggies a day. Because of that, I felt a little more full, so I ate less bad stuff.
Then, I worked on making sure one meal a day was completely clean (usually breakfast). Now, I'm working on the other two meals.
You'll find that if you'll stick with it for the first week, you won't crave the "bad food" anymore. Ok, well, maybe every now and then, but you certainly won't want it every meal, or even every day.
If I want something I shouldn't eat, I eat a small portion of it and make sure I cut back somewhere else so I don't go over my calorie goal for the day. Don't deprive yourself of anything!
Good luck!0
