    I have a Breville Juice Fountain Compact ($99.00) and I have found it to be very useful, durable and easy to clean. The three most important factors for me when purchasing my juicer was durability, ease of cleaning and maximum extraction of juice. I've had mine for three years approximately and am happy with my purchase. My parents used a Jack LaLanne Juicer and passed there old one on to me when they upgraded. I was not a fan of the juicer due to the difficulty I had in cleaning all the parts and too many parts at that to clean. Happy Juicing! :)

    I would look for a Breville model on Craigslist. You are in the greater Bay Area so there should be many around. Wait for the right deal and pounce. People give up on juicers quickly.

    Agree Breville is the only way to go!! We tried several others before we finally made the jump & it was so worth it!

    Pounce!

    The BJE200XL is the entry level model. The ones I posted are a notch above and a much better deal than buying a used BJE200XL.

    @RavenNoir

    What timing..I was just thinking about getting a juicer. :) I also had one of the Jack LaLanne juicers some years ago, and it was such a pain to clean that it turned me off on juicing.

    I'll check around and see what I can round up locally. Thanks for that info!

    Omega and Breville are definitely the best two brands that aren't a fortune, but a lot of the Omega's cost more. My Omega J8003 was around $250. If you see a cheap Omega, pounce. I find the styling easier to clean than a lot of the Brevilles.

    I would recommend the Breville juicers, ranging from $99 to $400. Choosing a good juicer is not easy, you need to find a balance between your needs and budget. I suggest you read this article. I think it really helps! Which Breville Juicer is Best For You: http://www.juiceandjuicers.com/which-breville-juicer-is-best-for-you/

    I found a great juicer for $40 on sale with an employee discount. We ended up going with the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth juicer. I love this little machine!

    The problem is that different juicers produce different quantities of juice. The lower-cost juicer could really lead you into the trap. You are thinking it’s a good deal, but in fact by buying this juicer you’re going to throw away 1 glass of juice for every 2 glasses you drink. That is also juice quality consideration. What I did when I was looking for a juicer? I have chosen a high quality masticating juicer like this one: http://juicerreviewspro.com/omega-j8006-juicer-reviews.html, and looked around for the deal or sale. There are always some sales somewhere. Believe me, when you get high quality juicer you will save a lot more money and you will get a lot more health benefits!

    A friend of mine is going to loan me her Breville tonight for a while to see if I like juicing before I spend the money. I'm excited!
