Looking for Support

Good afternoon,
I am looking for support from you all. I have lost about 65 pounds in the last year and I am looking to lost about 30 more and build muscle and tone up. I am looking for people whom can help me, encourage me and give me tips or suggestions in regards to all of this.

I have used MFP on and off for about a year and I know that I need to be consistent with using this tool as well as working out!

Thanks in advance!

Jen

Feel free to add me! I too am looking to lose weight but I also want to build muscle in the process. I am always looking for tips and suggestions on how to do that. Good luck!
  • hey there,
what I am finding works for me is 60 minutes walking a brisk 3.5 pace and 40 minutes of weight training. the way I do it is I walk 1.3 miles (20 min) to the gym, when I get there I do 20 minutes of weight training, then I do 20 minutes on tread mill another round of weight training and walk back home. ive lost 13 lbs since april 15th doing this (as well as watching what I eat). this mfp is awesome. it helps keep me on track. ( oh yeah and another thing I do is I take one day a week to splurge it helps keep me on the diet and I don't feel guilty about it). hope this may help you out.
  • Hello. I am new to this site. It was recommended by my doctor. I have already lost 10 lbs!! I have been doing a lot more walking and I'm watching what I eat and how much I eat. I am inspired to continue my weightloss journey. I still have a ways to go but I'm going to continue this and make this a life style change.

    Hi there.
I began using MFP when a colleague introduced me to it on January 25, 2013. This has changed my life in such a positive and significant way! I can't begin to explain all of the changes I've implemented since joining MFP. To date I've lost 36 lbs.! Wow! Me, of all people...I've been overweight my whole life! Now, I feel liberated! My self confidence has skyrocketed. I have so much energy and optimism! Strangers at work are approaching me and letting me know they have noticed my significant weight loss. Others I've known for a few years now are telling me that they've literally taken a "double take" to see if it's really the gal they've known. Incredible! Feel free to add me as one of your MFP buddies. I would like to have more encouraging MFP buddies too! Have a great day!

    Jen,
You are so right about using this tool more often because sometimes I forget to post my meals on the day it happens but instead I do it the next day or two if I remember. Your weight lost is amazing and I say to you congrats and keep up the good work. Always remember that you are the one that made the change and it is paying off for you.

Hi my name is Vivian, I am new to the site too. I have only lost 3 pounds so far but I have only been on the program for a week. My daughter lost 38 lbs on this site and when I saw her results I wanted to play too. I saw how this works and I love it. I am currently out of town. Not the ideal situation as it can throw you a curve ball. I got a Jack in the Box Club salad when I was out today. I got home and logged the calories and found out it had a whopping 583 calories. I thought I was being good. What a shock. But its okay I have plenty of calories left for Dinner and I have already had two snacks. So I can work this all in. I envy your 10lb weight loss. I hope to get there soon myself. 10 lbs is real progress. I have a lot of weight to lose so it is not gonna happen overnight. I too am making a lifestyle change as recommended by my doctor.

Well if you want to talk more. Shoot me a message back.
