Super Models? Or Super Gross?

So I'm sure a lot of you have noticed this crap circulating on MSN (why do I even bother?).
MOST (not necessarily all) of these ladies just look, well, malnourished to me - NOT sexy. And this is why we're so messed up when it comes to body image...

Super None-of-my-business...because I can only look however I'm gonna look. Per my genetic potential.

The majority of them look like they take care of themselves. I don't see one that looks too skinny or malnourished.

I'm probably skinnier than a most of them - not bragging, just a fact. This is how my body reacted to a better, healthier diet. How do you suppose a post would potentially make me feel? In case you do care, it doesn't make me feel bad as I have a thicker skin than that, but what if it did?

    Why the thin-shaming?

What makes you think it's okay to call thin women super-gross?

    I think they look great.

Although that's not to say that this is the *only* way to look great.

The reason I think we are messed up with body image is more because despite winning a genetic lottery, constantly watching what they eat and working out before having a team of people wax, tan, style, dress, pose, light and shoot them in a flattering way, these people then end up getting photoshopped.

    That is messed up.

I find your body shaming to be far more gross than anything in any of those pictures.

I don't find them to (appear) to be unhealthy or malnourished...do you even know what that would look like?

    Stop body shaming.

PS- I am not messed up when it comes to body image...you can speak for yourself next time instead of using such generalizations of others.

Some look great...some not as great...but we are all different and there is nothing wrong with being slim, just as there is nothing wrong with being a litte bigger.
None of these women looks too thin to me...I think we are just too accustomed to slight overweight being the norm these days.

I tend to favor woman with curves like Jessica biel, scarlet johansen, sofia vergara or Blake lively
So while most of these woman were thin I really expected to see sickly thin woman, honestly thought most of them looked just fine.

You know what I LIKE about this set of pictures?

It doesn't have a face associated with the body, so right away that preconceived judgement of "Oh its JLO, she always looks good..etc" is not there.

As a previous poster said, its nice to just appreciate others for who they are.. and embrace the fact that we are not all created the same. 130 lbs on one female may look completely different on another, just as we all are different and thats what makes us unique.

Bottom line is at least they appear to be comfortable in their skin, no matter what the size or shape....

    +1.

I was expecting to see protruding bones and sickly women...(not that I wanted to see that).... but these women look very healthy and confident if you ask me.

Being happy with by body has nothing to do with what others look like, but what I think about myself. Putting down perfectly healthy bodies just because my genetics are different just doesn't help.:ohwell:

Are you kidding me? They all look pretty damn fabulous to me and I definitely don't like the TOO skinny look. I think they all look great and heathy.

Body shaming is also my favorite thing to do!

Not really I think its completely gross and shouldn't happen to anyone no matter what their size is.

lol The majority of them looked healthy to me...There was only one person on there that I thought looked a bit too thin. I'd kill to look like Brooklyn Decker, who is on that list. She looks healthy and fit!

    2ptyvbo.jpg

This girl...I have no clue who she is...but she was on the list too. In what world is this "malnourished"? LOL

    v6n2te.jpg

I'm starting to think that our society has become so accustomed to seeing obesity that we think that it's what's normal and there's something wrong with people that take care of their bodies.

Imagine your sitting on the beach, having fun, getting some sun, and with your loved ones. Someone takes a picture of you publishes it on the Internet puts it out there for all to judge if you are worthy enough and proceeds to call you malnourished or fat. How would that make you feel? Does it teach our daughters to love their body? Does it seem judgmental?

Frankly all these posts make me embarrased to be a woman. We focus more on each others flaws more than men do. Maybe it is some genetic competition for the best semen. I don't know but as educated learned women...Stop it!

You assume they are educated learned women, these posts lead me to believe they are neither educated nor learned women. Just catty biotches.

I really don't think those women look malnourished and I find many of them sexy, personally. I don't see the point in bringing negative attention to them. Why can't we all just say "I love my body and what I am working towards" and leave it at that, without bringing other people down, whether you're commenting on a stranger/celebrity, or not.

Super-judgemental body shaming, more like it.
Who cares. Do you. You just wasted time looking at pictures of (and then *****ing about) other women when you could have been prepping some healthy meals, going for a walk, doing a workout, refillng your water bottle or any number of other things to help you improve yourself. I looked at the first two pictures, found nothing offensive, made a big "sigh" face.

Good. But I already got my talons and fangs out so it would be a shame to not put them to use.

I think that shaming people for whatever reason is wrong. I don't care if they are skinny, fat, obese, or have a problem that has nothing to do with their looks. But, this is odious saying these women are super gross. Most of them look healthy and fit not at all anorexic. And if they were anorexic calling them gross is really mean in that case they have an ED and it would be like calling a cancer patient gross or someone with schizophrenia gross. In that case they would be someone in serious need of a medical intervention. Irregardless people deserve to be treated with respect no matter what their body size is.

Agreed. I come from a family of naturally thin people. We are not malnourished or super gross. We DO eat plenty of food but we are also very active. Your thread comes off as Super Petty to me.
