Shannon, you rock and in a WHOLE lot of ways. I'm really glad to know you, you have made an everlasting impact on my life for years now, for many different reasons
Enjoy 730 days tomorrow!0 -
Oh my gosh Shannon ... you brought tears to my eyes. Way to be you girl!!
Edit to add: Have you ever considered writing? You're fantastic.0 -
Wow, you look like a new person! Congrats on your success!
I liked how you set manageable goals and then set new ones once you nailed the first ones. I know that I have perfectionist tendencies that keep me rooted in one place. If I can't reach the ultimate goal then I have a hard time motivating myself to start. I think it's time I really tried your method!0 -
this is completely amazing and inspirational!
I agree! :flowerforyou:0 -

This is the first time I have ever replied to anything on these message boards. I have enjoyed other posts...but this one REALLY GOT ME. Thank you for writing this (you are a very talented writer, btw!)... this was amazing, and really impacted me. I will read it again and again. I am only 45 days in to this, and began a bit like you...not really expecting much....but have lost 16.2 so far, and that feels amazing to me!
Thank you again - you are a gift. and your son (and goat) are very cute!0 -
I had to read from start to finish because you kept my interest peaked and I don't know you, but love you!
I have just broken from a plateau and am just awe-inspired by your story. You are an amazing human being and I thank you for your post that has made a serious impact in my future (later I will post my success story when I get there and am ready!)
You are a fabulous role model for your child/family/friends. Wow, I am going to have this one in my head for some time and will review this and think of this on days when I feel like not doing this anymore. Slow and steady for me but, onward!
Peace and goodnight0 -

"the process is as great as the journey"
"fitness is a hobby"
It really IS a hobby.
You are and were stunning then and now
Thank you for sharing your story, for your inspiration.
I am only starting my journey, but I am determined!
day by day, I will overcome.0 -
Thank you. Reading your account of your journey is eerie because it sounds almost exactly like mine. When I started logging into MFP in January, I weighed 308 pounds. I had been heavy since I was seven years old. Yes, I had tried dieting before, but it never stuck. MFP is different because I now carefully consider every bit of food that I put into my mouth. Is it worth the extra time on the treadmill?
I am still waiting on my magic. 150 days later, I weigh 249.2 pounds. I am down to two shirt sizes, and my pants literally hang off of my hips. My next goal? to reach that ever-elusive "Onederland." I don't remember when I was less than 200 pounds, but I will. It will just take time.
I have hit a bit of a lull in the weight loss lately, but reading your story made me realize that magic can indeed happen. I needed that reminder so I thank you again for posting.0 -
Great inspiration for all. congratulations!!0
