Unless you are one of the rare "responders" to dietary cholesterol and you've been instructed by a doctor to limit egg yolks and other cholesterol-containing food, there is absolutely no reason to avoid them.0
-
The yolks contain cholesterol and the bulk of the calories. The white of the egg is essentially nothing but albumen.0
-
because some people just dont like their food to have flavor i guess0
-
more protein. Use one egg and then 1/2 cup of whites0
-
There is no good reason to throw them out, none.0

There is no reason not to eat the yolks..........most of the vital nutrition is in the egg yolk.0 -

And you know there are a lot of people that still think cholesterol is the devil. :laugh:0 -

Eat the damn yolks! I have 2 whole eggs for breakfast most days. I see a dietitian and she's all for it! Maybe make a huge egg yolk omlette :P0 -
I hate yellow. I wont eat bananas either.0
-
That's my favorite part. I used to throw them out and realized that was good food going to waste.0
-
I lost 40+ pounds ..... and I eat egg yolks, no problem :drinker:0
-
Mix in some shell... The crunchy texture is to die for.0

I certainly am not yolk-phobic. Eggs are great for you!!
I sometimes have an omelette with 1 whole egg plus 3 whites, or 2 whole eggs plus 2 egg whites - this is if I am watching total calories and still need to have a good meal with nice protein levels, but want to keep the calories down for the entire omelette. Usually depends what is going in the omelette as well.
I eat about 2 dozen eggs a week - and I have very good HDL and LDL cholesterol levels. I get it checked every year. Eating cholesterol does not give you high cholesterol.0 -
Because they taste gross to me. However, if you like them and IIFYM then go ahead and eat them.0
-
I mix it up and use both.
Some recipes I like to keep the fat down a little like for pre and post workout so I'll use egg whites only.
For other meals I love whole eggs.
Eggs are good for you there is no reason you can't eat a whole egg unless you are advised by a health profressional to limit your intake.0 -
Do you even merengue?
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
banana0 -
I don't think you need to avoid yolks all the time. You just need to journal them. If you want more "bang for the caloric buck" you can always do a combination of whole eggs and egg whites as has been discussed in previous responses.0
-
I eat them, 2-3 whole XL eggs, 4-5 days a week. Sometimes I even fry them in bacon fat. Good stuff. As others have said, unless you've got a medical reason not to, eat the whole egg.0
-
The yolk has more nutrition in them than the whites. I'd say just eat it lol. They're good haha0

Then, by definition, cholesterol is not essential.0 -
Some people don't need the extra fat in their diet because they get enough dietary fat from other sources.
or
Some people are of the ill founded belief that eating dietary fat makes them fat.
or
Some people are of the ill founded belief that because egg yolks are high in cholesterol they are bad for you.
If you want the yolks, eat them. If you don't want the yolks, don't eat them. But do not force other people to eat or not to eat something, just advise them, and if they do not respond or do not appreciate your concern, just ignore them and get on with your day.0 -

^^^ This. I don't like Tofu but I support you Constitutional Right to eat it if you want to. That's a right isn't it? Or is it a wrong??? Need sleep0 -
The white has most of the protein, very few calories and none of the fat. So for fine tuning achieving macros, egg white can be very helpful
But there's nothing wrong with eating the yolks if you like them. I buy whole eggs and a carton of egg whites so that I can mix and match without having to throw good food away.0 -

I usually use one or two whole eggs along with half a cup of whites to give a big protein boost for relatively low cals.0 -
