the secret to burpees is when you are coming up, jump your feet into squat position up by your hands, then stand up,0
-
Maybe they came up with they name bc you expel some gas after all that gyration....fartees sounded less attractive haha.0
-
Yeah, no...I don't think they get easier either...I used to refuse to do them but I've mellowed...lol...
Hate doing them but 'apparently', as per the trainer, they are an excellent exercise...it doesn't make me like doing them but I have stopped fighting...for now!!!0 -
YES! When I first started I could barely do 2 or 3. But now I can do 50 in a row!0

In terms of if you will ever like it, probably a no. But if it's a challenge to do the burpee now then yes it will get to the point that you can easily do one.
There are tons of variations too that can make it funner to do depending on what you like and can add some difficulty to make burpees even more effective
I personally like the push-up burpee, it's a good challenge!0 -
No, not really...because if you're doing it right and 10 becomes easy then you need to do 20...then 30...then 40 and so on. Burpees should never be easy...hell, no exercise should be easy.0
-
Don't know, I think they have gotten easier but I cringe everytime I here the next exercise is going to be the BURPEE! Might be a mental thing now.0
-
not a good exercise to eat beforehand and then do...hence the name do they get easier? yeah...do you learn to like them? probably not. as a fitness professional, i don't like doing them BUT they are a GREAT all-over exercise!0
-
I do 10 sets of 10 reps with about a minute rest between. They suck0
-
They are just awful.. I can't imagine any variation that I could possibly enjoy. Especially after having a baby.. they make me want to pee. Ugh!0

As a Spartan, I do not like nor will I ever do Burpees.0

Burpees are no fun....but very good for you but still no fun and they burn !!!!0

And to add one more question...what do they actually improve upon...learning how to hold your lunch instead of "burping" it up is the 1st thing that comes to mind...strength training for your esophagus?0 -
I have to do 6 sets of 10 burpees in between ab exercising so it would be 10 burpees, 40 secs of crunches, 10 burpees, next ab exercise...6 times...60 burpees...can't even think about it right now...I'm dreading it.0

is there another way to do them? if so, that would be the secret to me lol.
saw a youtube video of a guy doing a miles worth of burpees on a track for his 30th bday.
he just moved forward a little everytime he jumped.
yes he had to take brakes lol0 -

stopping because you are a little uncomfortable is just something one needs to learn to push through/put off as long as possilbe.
if your stopping because you phyisically can't do any more without risk of injury, then your training exactly how you should.
reps will increase with time.
but the more you keep every workout close to the effort/intensity level of the very first time you did something, the more effective it will be.
when something becomes 'easy' or close to it, its time for something else (probably was time months ago in that situation). you can come back to it later when its hard again lol.0 -
No, when I stop it is because my feet won't move anymore.0
-
I don't know if they ever get better. Maybe more used to them so it's somewhat easier. I try to stay away from exercise routines that include them, but many of the ones I like do have them. Must mean they are good for you. At this point I almost zone out and don't fight it as much. Having good music or a good workout partner helps out as well.0
