C25k

I have signed up for a 5k mid August. Started the c25k on my iphone. I am having problems with my breathing when I am running, which is a slow jog.:blushing: Any suggestions?

Try breathing in for 3 steps, out for 2, or breathing in for 2 and out for 1. That way you're alternating which foot you're starting and finishing your breaths on (lowering injury risk). Sometimes getting caught up in the rhythm of your breathing can be very hypnotic! If you can't catch your breath, you're likely running too fast, even if it still feels slow (I've been running for almost 3 years and my running still feels slow! LOL).
    I hope that helps!

Make sure you breath deep. There's a tendency to breathe fast and shallow when you first start running, and that can lead to side stitches. Work on getting a rhythm (the previous poster's suggestion is a good one) so that your deep breathing becomes automatic.
