I don't disagree that soda is bad for you, however I highly dislike things like this that contain statistics without explanations.
Some of the statistics read "those who consume an additional soda" or "those who drink more"
More than what? What's the base that the "additional" adds on to? I guarantee you it's not zero.
Things like this are made to suit a specific audience and as someone who majored in a category with a LOT of statistical analysis and research, just be careful what you believe based on statistics.

I completely agree. I guarantee you I can find 100 studies that say 2-3 sodas a week won't hurt you nearly as much as some people want you to think. Not saying they're good for you, but I think diet drinks are fine in moderation

Let's just translate this out then.

If you consume a lot of sugar, you'll rot your teeth and gain weight which will contribute to heart disease, diabetes and the like.

If you drink ANYTHING in plastic bottles containing BPA (current chemical scare and in the news a LOT), you risk premature onset of puberty, the current normal range being 7 - 13, and puberty not equating to the commencement of menstruation. Btw only 6 hours to flush the BPA in your body once you stop consuming it (in other words, go and pee).

If you're allergic to sodium benzoate, you might develop asthma or a rash. It isn't just soft drinks that contain sodium benzoate. It's a common additive to many foods.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphoric_acid#Biological_effects_on_bone_calcium_and_kidney_health : the jury's out on phosphoric acid. Maybe it does and maybe it doesn't.

Really, what this little piece of "go get your insurance in place now and pay us your premiums before it's too late" information does is says IF YOU ARE OBESE, LOSE WEIGHT. There is your health risk.

And we already knew that *nod*

    Mirii
