I am an apple shape and 4'11." I used to weigh over 150 pounds and at that point my waist was over 35" although I didn't measure it then. I remember at one point it was 37." Since losing weight it has dropped to just below 26" at 97 pounds and 17 - 18% body fat.

I didn't stop being an apple shape, but I lost so much fat by changing my lean body composition that it had to come off the stomach eventually.

    5'8.5" and I have a 27.5 inch waist

    ETA

    My measurements are 36/27.5/38

the largest part of my midsectin right around my belly button is 32 )

I don't get it. Isn't your waist supposed to be measured around the belly button? Where do you measure to get the 27.5?

When you see a woman's measurements, it's usually taken from the narrowest point of her waist, or her "natural waist". It's usually a few inches above the belly button. I have a really long torso so my natural waist is quite high up.

    I'm 199lbs, 5'8" and my natural waist is 31.5"

Oh. Well every time I get measured, they tell me to hold it at my belly button. I don't mind though, as that's where I want to see the inches come off anyway! No wonder every one's measurements are so different! lol OP: I guess I don't know what my "natural" waist measurement is... my 27" is around my belly button... where I carried all my extra baby weight and trying to lose the most from!

    5'4", probably 158-ish, 24.5" natural waist.

My waist is not my problem area, haha.

5'7", 172, and 40 inch "waist"--my tummy, waist, and hips are all about the same. Definitely my problem spot!
