I was just thinking about how excited I am to get off work, put my ear buds in and go running in the rain :)

    November

    It’s dark by five,
    The highway slick and treacherous
As rain tosses back the car lights
    In staccato streaks,
    And ricochets off wet pavement.

    In bed by seven
    Warm beneath the down duvet,
I centre my book in the pool of light
    That spills forth
    From one small reading lamp.

    Rain, wind driven and wild,
    Lashes my windows in fury
Then calms to a gentle patter
    On cedar shingles:
    A life-giving, soaking rain.

    My window, just slightly open,
Lets in the cool fresh scent of
    Dripping hemlocks and Douglas fir.
    They’re breathing deep, drinking long.
    Like me, they love November.

A poem I wrote when living on Vancouver Island Canada (Temperate rain forest...November is our rainiest month.

    Rainy days are depressing.

Don't mind some rain when I'm sleeping, though :)

Another Seattleite here....originally from Florida. Lots of rain in both places, just different in the way it comes down. Now that I'm out here, all I think of when it rains is the beautiful, lush green landscape we have year round....and the snow it's making in the mountains just a few miles away...and the skiing I'll do on it on the weekends. :drinker:

I love rainy days. So relaxing, if I'm home. If I have to be out in it, I'm not so much in love with it. But, if I'm home, it's really nice and relaxing. Put the fireplace on, chill out with a book or a movie. It's a nice down day with like 6 naps.

What is this "nap" thing you speak of?

I live in southern cali and I love a rainy day. Everything is so clean and beautiful afterwards. I also find it romantic to stand under and umbrella with my S/O.

None of you must be from Washington state. LOL, I'm used to rain, and sometimes I even enjoy it, but I really prefer the sunny days, as those are few and far between here it seems.

Amen sister! Except the weather this June has been AMAZING!

True! Except for the rain falling right now... lol

I live in the Washington state desert (yes, there is one - look it up!) and I love, love, LOVE the rain! It's been raining here nonstop since last night and also had an awesome thunder and lightning show that I sat up late to watch

I suppose I should have said "Western Washington State" As that is where I live. But I do have family on the east side, so I know how it is over there.
