Counting Calories that way not limited in eating what someone else is telling me. I pick the foods I like. Gain knowledge of what's in the foods we eat and what our body really needs and some will power :)
    It works.

I don't have a diet plan because I won't stick to it. I'm just counting calories and learning to be mindful of what I eat.

I used the calculator here on MFP to track my food intake, daily caloric needs and exercise.
    Seems to work so far.

There is ONLY one way to lose weight.................. to burn more calories than you consume, The bigger the gap between the two, the more weight you lose. It truly is that simple.

I'm not on a diet...this is a lifestyle change. Diets are just temporary.

IIFYM = If it fits your macros ~ pretty much try to get > 140g of protein per day, then split the rest between fats and carbs, but I give healthy fats more preference.

Also count all the food calories, and as much exercise calories as possible.

I'm on the "see food" diet.
I see food. If it fits in my calorie/ micro goal - I eat it.
This includes Pizza, Ice cream, and chocolate :)

Sure, as long as you don't care how much of that loss is muscle, or your overall health and energy levels. But if you do care about those things, a big deficit is a problem.

I just focus on the quality of food I'm putting into my body and eating the foods I like in moderation. Eating a little less and moving a little more has worked wonders for me so far :-).

I'm not really following a strict plan, however I am eating low carb and it is working! I set my macros to 20% carbs, 30% protein, and 50% fat. You might feel tired the first week but after that, your body gets used to it.

When you eat low carb, your body must burn fat to provide energy.

Sounds good. I'm finding since using FP that I'm more mindful of what I'm eating and how many cals I have left at the end of the day. Also surprised at the sugar content in fruit, however I feel fruit is healthy and it's not processed sugar. I have Natvia in my tea/coffee.

I am following the tracker on MFP. Three days in and I feel good. Can't wait till Friday to see how much I have lost. I eat everyday foods....I love peanut butter and I had some for breakfast yesterday. I know if I say I can't have the things I enjoy, I won't stick to it. Moderation and keeping track of calories, and carbs.

i really hate how the word diet is used these days. a diet is just what you eat and what you live off of. so i am on a diet of food.

Eat Less, Move More! I eat 1850-1900 calories a day, yesterday I had chocolate, today I plan to have chocolate. This is something I can sustain for life, as I still eat the things I like, just less of them!

I'm also aiming to exercise 5-6 days a week for 30-60mins. I've lost 0.5kg this week. not a 'fast' loss, but a sustainable and healthy one. I've been on that many diets (Shakes, Jenny Craig, Dukan, Atkins etc) and while I lost weight, they didn't teach me to eat well or to have a good relationship with food and so I put it all back on plus some.

Try it, you don't need to buy into gimmicks to lose the weight!
