Remind yourself that this is a lifestyle change, not a program. It's not temporary - you're trying to eat better and be more active, which will hopefully carry through the rest of your life!!
Second, write a list (just for yourself) of all the reasons you want to lose weight and be healthy. Be HONEST - they can be shallow reasons, serious, silly -- whatever the real motivations are for you. Why did you start in the first place? Then read the list outloud to yourself. If you give up now, you're disrespecting yourself by throwing all those reasons out the window. Keep this list somewhere that you can pull it out when you need an honest reminder of why you are doing this. Don't be afraid to read it out loud to yourself regularly.
Make sure you're eating *enough*, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep - they will help you operate at your best.
Finally, make yourself go exercise - go outside for a walk, do something. Make yourself start moving. It will help you feel better and get out of the 'sluggish' phase where you just want to give up. (I know this from personal experience!)
You CAN do this! Good luck.0 -
When I hit those funks I force myself to get up and exercise. It's not easy and there's no shortcuts to getting through it. It's a matter of willpower and figuring out what you really want. Also a little bit of caffeine usually gets me going when I really need it.0

I have been there too...I usually hit my wall about four months in when healthy food doesn't sound good to me anymore, so all I want is fast food (my downfall). As far as being sluggish goes, you might need to recheck your calories, and see if you are getting enough, or too much, as either one can make you feel that way. Another thing you can do is go out for a walk or some type of exercise, this gets your endorphins going, and can really make you feel better about yourself and what you are doing. At the end of the day though, you have to remember that losing weight (and keeping it off) is a lifestyle change, and doesn't happen overnight. My grandmother (an inspiration to me) has lost nearly 130 lbs on Weight Watchers. This has taken her nearly ten years to reach that, and I do not know how she has done it for that long, but it reminds me that I can do it too, no matter how long it takes. Just remember that you are doing this for you, and no one else, and recommit yourself to it fully, you will thank yourself in the end.0

I agree wholeheartedly. I was feeling exhausted yesterday after work, all I wanted to do was take a long nap, but I forced myself to go for a run, and about 5 minutes into my workout I had a smile on my face (literally... I looked like an idiot) and I felt so much better after I finished my workout--much more energy, despite having worked out really hard. I also agree with all the suggestions about making sure you're getting enough calories. Maybe you need to increase your intake for a little while (a week should do it) just to get enough extra energy to renew your comittment to this lifestyle. Keep going!!0 -
yea maybe i could increase calories for energy maybe thats whats doing it0

I'd check your diet. If your'e feeling 'sluggish' then either youre not eating enough or too much of the wrong thing? IE too many carbs?? If anything, eating and exercising should make you feel better, not worse!
Motivation wise, a picture on your fridge that you hate how you look? Plus what everyone else has said, remind yourself of your original objectivies and inspirations.
And you know, even take a few days off!!! Sometimes we just need a break to mentally adjust again. Or start incorporating cheat days, if you dont already??
Keep trying hun, its worth it in the long run :flowerforyou:0
