    This is the tasting platter from a place we visited over the weekend.

    The quinelle of chicken liver pâté was delicious, I don't normally like pâté, and nearly didn't taste it, but I'm glad I did. It had a very distinct umami flavour that I couldn't place.

    squash blossom quesadillas with refried beans and fresh made pico de gallo. i wish squash blossoms were easier to get because i love them (especially when covered in a wonderful creamy, mild mexican cheese... mmmm)

    They are really tasty. The flowers taste a bit like squash (not too surprising) but much more light and delicate. I tossed them with finely diced jalapeno and chopped fresh cilantro. Delicious :)

    Here's one more pic of a different plate - the first I snapped of the plate I prepared for a friend that was over for dinner. I have a lot of mismatched dishes, hehe.

    Tonight we have steamed broccoli, and roasted zucchini with onions and tomatoes, for the main dish we're having striped bass (grilled) with a homemade savory fish sauce. btw, we grew the zucchini ourselves and my hubby caught the fish too!
