1st Post.. Month Long Reader..

I joined the site a few weeks ago to gain a little support in turning this overweight thing around.. I'm 5'11 and I was 229 when I started. Today, 3 weeks later, I weigh 216. This site has been great. Even though I only have a couple of local friends on the site, you all have been unbelievably encouraging! I'm hooked on reading the forums.

My profile picture was from 2007 and I'm using it as my motivation as I move forward. I was in much better shape then. I was 215 and pretty lean at about 12% BF. As mentioned above, I got up to 229 and lost quite a bit of muscle. I finally reached a point in which I hated the way my clothes fit and I got tired of the chronic loosening of my belt. My great awakening, or the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, came when I had to buy a new belt.

I'd like to add some friends for support if anyone is interested. Regardless, I'm motivated to get myself into shape one way or the other with a LOT of hard work. My progress has gotten me fired up to the point that I feel like I could go outside and tackle an oak tree!
